My family and I have been to this museum several times over the years, and each time there is something new to study! , as this museum rotates its exhibits every few years! From the rollup flag , bushrangers guns, wonderful old film of Young , lovely dresses , dentist chairs plus the 3 legged rooster and the egg within the egg ,the list goes on ! Run by enthusiast volunteers this Museum is a credit to them and the town of Young.

The museum is a must visit when touring through Young. The memorabilia on show tells a great story of Young's past

A marvellous collection showing the history of Young. Vast amounts of domestic, agricultural and industrial machinery and some wonderful old photographs. Loved the 'torture' equipment in the hairdressing section! And of course the three legged chook is not to be missed.Everything was well labelled and the volunteers on duty came up with all sorts of additional information and snippets about the exhibits.Meant to spend half an hour there but it ended up closer to two hours and could have been much longer.Well worth a visit.

The Lambing Flat Museum covers the most turbulent times of Young - the gold rush, but it also covers the pioneering days of the White family and the original Wiradjiri people. Perhaps there is too much stuff from the 20's & 30's and not enough interpretive stuff. If you have relatives from the area, visit on a Wednesday when the Family History section next door is open.

Great collection of local memorabilia. Its on $5 to get in or $4 if you are in a group. The original flag from the miners uprising against the Chinese has pride of place as it has been coveted by the National museum in Canberra.

This little museum is a beautiful old school house full of many childhood memories. The Lambing Flat Riots Flag is one of the key items on display. These riots led to the White Australia Policy, and as such, while not particularly politically correct in today's environment, it was a significant step and it still represents part of Australia's history. The lovely old photos and historical writings about Young and Lambing Flat in times gone past are interesting to read. There are many other items including some aboriginal items, beautiful old glass bottles and numerous mementos of the past both in war time and in peace. I have to take my hat off to the delightful staff there who welcome all visitors, as well as offering to help travellers with any questions they have about Young. Highly recommended!

The museum is like most country museum with many items the same, although some of the items were very interesting, such as the flag. There was also a video, but the first speaker was unfortunately rather hard to hear. Presentation and provinence is important and less rather than more, but most museums feel they have to cram all their items into the display. Little do they know that the attention span of visitors are limited. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

This is a most interesting small museum. It contain many fascinating items (the three legged chicken), and things of great historical significance. A wonderful collection of historical clothing, as well as lots and lots of other things to see. Well maintained by a clearly devoted band of volunteers. This museum deserves all the support it can get. Do not miss this place. Take the children!

The Lambing Flat Folk Museum has one exceptional exhibit that demands a visit to what is otherwise a rather ordinary local museum. The Roll Up flag from the Lambing Flat anti-Chinese riot is as important a national icon as the Eureka Flag. Every Australian should visit this site just to see this flag and learn its story.

Not only a fascinating display showcasing the area's history but there's a top little cafe out the back
