Worth the trip. Parking was akward but the architecture was beautiful. It was a nice walk about. There is a walkway behind the Cottage that paralells the Grand River. Try going as far as you can for a beautiful stroll through art and nature.

I have been to McDougall cottage on several occasions. On Family Day and around Christmas they host kids crafts and have free hot chocolate which my family has enjoyed immensely. Also my Mom and I have done high tea when they host it twice a year and it's so quaint and well worth the $12/pp...very reasonable. Great staff too!

My sister and I were strolling through the public art trail when we noticed this beautiful cottage garden and landscaping. The historic cottage was closed but the grounds were accessible. Crushed stone paths, huge blue hostas, sweet woodruff, sumac, honey locust, morning glory on the picket fence. The tree with the bits of tartan fabric was a nice touch. We will be back for a tour of the interior of the cottage.

I have been here on both on tour and for tea, and I have to say, it is somewhere I recommend to everyone! The house is wonderful; very cozy and inviting and beautifully decorated. The teas are delicious; the tea comes in big "Brown Betties" with an assortment of cookies and tarts. You'll find you may just want to come back again, for another relaxing afternoon or evening!

I attended a tea party event which served small sandwiches and my favorite cream scones. Beforehand we toured the small cottage inside and out. We were very fortunate that there was a display of mini Scottish Quilts. .People had entered a contest and the winners and several other contestants' quilts were displayed. I was surprised and pleased by the diversity and uniqueness of these Quilts. I could see that each entry was a work of art in its own right. I enjoyed looking at each one intently and reading about it. After the tea I saw the most beautiful wooden harp and was entranced by the singing and music of its owner. Thank you McDougal cottage for providing a surprisingly delightful afternoon.

This lovely cottage has great historical features. We've attended some musical events and thoroughly enjoy the "family" atmosphere. Great place for a kitchen party!

British old time design in local limestone and fine wood make this cottage a real gem. Currently used for group tours and special events. Historically accurate details complete the beautiful restoration.

A neat little house, beautiful high ceilings and painted murals on the walls and ceilings. Interpreter explained the Scottish roots and the interesting paintings and themes. The garden was delightful, such a scenic location! It backs onto the Grand River, and is across from Southworks, the big stone antique mall. House is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks! Learned Scots called a little house like that a "cottage". Very cute!
