My husband and I were last on Petit Jean mountain on our honeymoon 45 years ago! We decided to return and reserved a duplex cabin with a fireplace. It was the most economical, but it was cramped for even just the two of us. It was snowing when we arrived, and snowed for two days. It was beautiful! We were prepared for cold weather, but the only hiking we could do was on the bike trail through the woods. (This trail seems like a wonderful place for kids in the summertime to ride bikes away from any traffic!) We saw lots of animal tracks, and several deer. We were able to view the falls from the ADA area above the falls. The vista views were beautiful, especially through the huge windows in the restaurant. I must say, the state parks in Arkansas can't be beat.

I have been to Petit Jean many times as a child growing up and recently ate at Mather Lodge. Petit Jean is beautiful anytime of year and if you like to hike it has many trails with spectacular views. Many camping sites with a laid back atmosphere. It has a swimming pool and tennis courts all within walking distance.

My husband and I took our grandchildren up to Petit Jean State Park for the day. It was too cold and rainy to walk the trails but we ate lunch at Mather Lodge. The food is out of this world! The prices weren't bad either considering how many people we had. Looking forward to going again!

great trails and spectacular scenery at this little gem of a State Park. We took the family to Petit Jean and talked about the CCC and its impact on American economics and pride. This Prk has a little bit of everything. Tennis, horseback riding, trails, waterfalls , overlooks, cabins, lakes and plenty of green park space to roam. If you are on I40 near Morrilton Arkanasas you would not regret the detour of a few hours to absorb some of this parks beauty. .

Beauty and peace abound once you enter Petit Jean state park. So many things to do, hiking, camping, picnics, your choice. This particular weekend was a getaway for my birthday, and yes February and weather can be sketchy, but it was another wonderful stay at the park. We rented cabin 7, a nice one bedroom with kitchen and fireplace, but the kicker was the back porch with swing overlooking the awesome cliffs. While the cabin is small, it has everything you need and was extremely clean and well kept. Firewood is available for purchase at the lodge and we took full advantage each day of this option. Behind the cabin you can walk to cliffs and not only view, but hear the roar of an amazing waterfall. Last but not least we took advantage of Mather lodge dining and enjoyed two mornings of a delightful breakfast, (try the Petit Jean Omelet Special), with a view that you only think you see in magazines, and excellent service. We are already looking at dates to secure a cabin in September.

Petit Jean State Park is a wonderful park to visit, hike, swim, fish, boat, and just hang out in the woods. There is a beautiful lodge with a fine restaurant that has scenic view of the mountains. I have visited Petit Jean many times and always find something new. Within the park is an old car museum too.

Congratulations on your recent anniversary! We are so glad you spent that time here with us on Petit Jean to experience the magic that is truly unique to our park. We are so glad to hear that you had a good time and enjoyed all of the services offered here and were able to relax. On your return with your family, we highly recommend one of our cabins, they are perfect for a family getaway. Thanks for your comments.

This a beaurifully scenic area. We drove the area (due to health issues) but the hiking must be absolutely wonderful. We did visit and eat in the lodge restaurant. The view was breathtaking. The lodge has huge windows, built in the last 2/3 years, with huge logs and decorated beautifully. The staff was excellent and the food very good. We like to have a glass of wine with lunch when the surroundings are so beautiful but they do not serve alcohol. We did not see everything but imagine you could spend several days to a week enjoying just this one beautiful aea of Arkansas.

We have visited several times both tent and RV camping. The sites are spacious and clean. The park is very well run and offers several presentations from Park Rangers that are great for the family. The view is beautiful and there are a lot of hiking trails. We make it a regular visit.

Stayed here with my family in one of their cabins and it was very nice. We enjoyed the Cedar Falls Hike and had breakfast and dinner in the Mather Lodge. The park is very peaceful and has some nice trails and breathtaking views. We would definitely return.
