discovery depot children's museum

Great place where kids can run and play with minimal supervision or kids can play with their parents in several make-believe settings.I do wish they had a better area for parents to hang out and chat and a better system for coffee.

Took grandkids on Amtrak from Ottumwa to Galesburg and back. The layover in Galesburg was about 3 hrs while waiting for the westbound train so we went to the museum. It's not so much a museum as it is an interactive educational play area. The kids loved it so much they didn't want to leave. There are several interactive play areas. They can play fireman, ambulance operator, letter carrier, pizza shop operator, veterinarian, banker and others. There are science experiments and so much to occupy the kids.
