We're really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your trip to Trentham Monkey Forest. They also have a separate TripAdvisor page and it would be great if you could post your review there too. Many thanks.

Thanks for your feedback. We like to think we offer options for guests to make a great value for money visits. You can take FREE woodland walks, and we permit picnicking here. We're very open about our discounts on the Best Value Visits page of our website. We offer 2 for 1 midweek entry, we accept Tesco Days Out vouchers, Annual Tickets mean that a visit can be as little as 13p per day and we offer various format family tickets. At the moment we're doing £1 boat trips. We have considered including the trips in the admission price, but not everyone wants to go on the boat and train and would object to paying for rides they weren't taking.

this was our first and definatley not our last visit, although weather was quite chilly we had a lovely leisurely stroll around the lake.It was great seeing all the different species of waterfowl the great crested grebes especially,We had great fun trying to find and photograph all the fairies,The tree carvings were amazing my favourite being the diving otters. We will return in summer to see the gardens in full glory.

Great way to spend a day , a small outlet village by car park, we love the lakeside walk , small train goes partway round , small coffee shop at top end, faries hidden amongst trees for children to find, hides to birdwatch dotted around. But there's more formal gardens to stroll through, just outside massive garden centre , lots of cafes around the entrance. First went as a child , a log time ago , still love it , and will return

I have an annual pass for the gardens and can honestly say having recently visited other popular attractions the pass really is good value for money. I have really enjoyed visiting here with family and it appeals to all ages. The Italian gardens are lovely and really well kept. The cafes within the gardens are reasonably priced too. Worth a visit!

Visited here on Saturday 7th March for a 2 hour walk/jog then went back again with my family to spend a much more leisurely afternoon on Sunday 8th March.Despite the awful weather and general cold start to Spring the gardens were very beautiful. The Italian Gardens (designed by Tom Stuart-Smith) looked amazing - obviously few flowers as very early Spring however the planting design provided a beautiful network and structure of dried plant stems and seed heads and we could also see all the herbaceous perennials starting to peep through the earth. The "Rivers of Grass" area designed by Piet Oudolf was not at its best as grasses are obviously a bit straggly in Winter but still lovely to walk through. The Lakewalk was peaceful and full of geese, swans and ducks so great for bird-watching as we strolled around. None of us had seen the "Trentham Fairies" by local sculptor Robin Wright before and we really enjoyed spotting these. We finished our Sunday afternoon walk with coffee, tea and cakes at the Italian Garden Tearoom - good portions, reasonably priced and all served by a very friendly and competent waitress.Overall we had a lovely visit - recommended for anyone who wants a lovely relaxed afternoon walk and even better for anyone who is a keen gardener.

I visited Trentham yesterday with a friend and our dog and thoroughly enjoyed our visit . We loved looking out for the Fairies which are situated around the gardens and add a new and fun way of seeing the gardens. The gardens are a haven for wildlife and the gardens commitment for improving and enhancing there habitat is very evident. Foot paths are well maintained and suitable for less able walkers, prams etc. Seeing these gardens in winter/spring is what you are able to appreciate this time of year and as a keen gardener I appreciate what you see in all area of the garden and lake. You can not expect to see The Italian gardens in full colour as it is winter here in the UK not a warm Mediterranean climate. Thank you to all the staff for a welcome visit. Keep up the good work you are doing and be proud of your achievements.

Thanks so much for your feedback, we're really sorry to hear you found your visit disappointing. This Saturday was the first really nice day bringing lots of people to the gardens and making them feel like we are in spring, when we are still in winter until 20th March. As outlined in our email response to your comments, the crocus in the east and western gardens are in full bloom as you will see from the pictures on The Trentham website homepage and we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the daffodils around the tearoom and a large scale bulb planting (over 80k bulbs planted by hand last autumn) in the eastern gardens later this month. The Rivers of Grass (the area to the right as you walk into the gardens), does not look its best at this time of year but there are very good reasons for that - we leave it to nature and let the grasses do exactly as they would in the wild. The idea being that the plant material will act as natural mulch and help reduce weeds and improve the quality of soil around the plants. The Italian Garden main beds are getting going with the spring bedding in the Upper Flower Garden. Our discounted admission at this time of year, reflects this – however, please do keep an eye on our best value visits page, for garden visit offers http://www.trentham.co.uk/the-trentham-estate/cheap-ticketsOur CountryFile Magazine, Garden of the Year win was awarded only last week, and was as a result of a public vote against some very strong competition in that category.A vast new lakeside scheme by Nigel Dunnett is in design stage and is set to get underway in the coming month and will undoubtedly add extended seasonal interest in coming years. We hope your experience hasn't deterred you from visiting us later in the season, and have passed on your feedback to the garden team.

Always a pleasure visiting the gardens. I don't live far from Trentham, so I've invested in annual passes for my Son and me. I feel this is a fair and balanced review of the gardens. It's a bit limited for places to eat, especially on a Tuesday and Thursday when the coach trippers arrive, which makes it a bit difficult to have lunch there sometimes, unless you can previously book. Café David is lovely. The food is always high quality and the staff are smart and friendly. The café at the bottom of the lake is overpriced for the quality of the food, especially the tea cakes. Miss Elizabeth is the boat you can take a trip around the lake on for a small price, and it's worth the punt! Dogs are allowed on-lead, and there are water bowls around for them too :) There's a lovely children's play area that's always very busy. Toilets are always clean, but there aren't really enough for the amount of visitors that visit. If you are visiting the gardens, leave plenty of time if it's a nice day. The queues to get in are huge! It's so popular. There is a good selection of shops and staff are always helpful and friendly. We have been going there regularly for 7 years and I've never had cause to complain. My only true criticism is that there are not enough seats/seating areas on the circular walk around the lake. The circular walk around the lake is not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties or in a wheelchair/motorised chair. The gardens have just been awarded Countryfile Magazine Garden of the Year 2015, and it is well deserved. The gardens are stunning on a cold, frosty morning or a bright sunny day. Wood carvings, fairies, nesting herons.... Always take a camera or a mobile phone well charged up! You won't regret a visit.

Elizabeth P, thank you for yet another great review of your visits to the Trentham Gardens. We're chuffed to bits that you and your friends saw such a variety of birds, we think you have named nearly every bird here in The Gardens!
