A quiet little gem of interest - though my background in chemistry and the fact I wandered in with my pharmacist uncle certainly didn't hurt. This is an unpretentious little museum, giving a small window into the past. pamphlets with explanations/descriptions in several languages were available to take through the rooms, at no additional charge. An enjoyable hour or two.

Cafe Qwensel is cute and the little garden really allows enjoying a nice cup of coffee or tea in piece while reading a book or conversating with friends. They have self made pies and pastries on offer at not too expensive prices neither. In winter the seating is obviously only inside and heated by a fireplace.Very cosy! Recommended both in winter and summer:).

Pharmacy museum is one of many places that you must visit in Turku. It's a place you probably don't understand without visit. The museum itself was in late 1700's build house. The interior is absolutely magnificent. The scent of old wood and herbs makes unique feeling. And at the end, you will consider, how we ever survived with ancient pharmacist's and medicine's.

Right in the center of Turku this small museum has two parts - one is a reconstructed old pharmacy, the other demonstrate the life of tho house owners. Recommended for everyone.

This place is a must when you visit Turku. The museum is a nice place with real old times atmosphere but the café is definitely one of the most beautiful in Turku. The coffee is served in tin pots and the cups and platea are charming. This place really is a treat for all thw sences. Also gluten free options of sweet treats are available.

While staying in Turku for few days I wanted to see this interestingly sounding museum, but when I finally reached it it was closed. The information on the gate wasn't precise if it s open all year long or not. The poster in the showcase was more precise to inform that museum opens since May. Anyway, it is situated in the nicest part of Turku, on the promenade along the river. I recommend taking a walk there and watching specific Scandinavian architecture style. If you have a chance rent a bike therefore you will see more :)

This place was kind of hard to find, at least the entrance was. It is outside not through the courtyard. The courtyard is just for the cafe. Only a few Euro admission and each room has detailed explanations in multiple languages. There are additional annotations in the rooms in Finnish, Swedish and English, mostly about specific plants used. Very interesting stuff with a lot of random other history of Turku.Tips: No FlashSmells stronglyDim with small doorways and windows

A stroll along the river Aura of Turku reviel many attractions one being the okd Pharmacy museum with the oldest survived pharmacy interior in Finland. The pharmacy is situated in the so called Qwensel house that also includes an exhibition. This museum is easy to find and has refreshments for sale before you continue your stroll.

Loved the collection of old equipment, utensils and jars. The rooms laid out in bourgeois style of the time were filled with items giving the viewer a glimpse into the past. Well worth visiting.

Great collection of medical/pharmaceutical items (some of them from unbelievable places---we Austrians even found something from Vienna, a percolator I think), the museum is a flight of rooms full of interesting stuff, and when it's warm, the courtyard is a great place to sum up the experience. Actually we were there in late September 2011 but the machines don't let me tell the truth.

It's small so if you hate museums you know that you will be out quickly. You don't have to be interested in pharmacies..this place gives you a good idea how upper middle class people were living in the 18th century.

The entrence fee is really cheap and you can see how they were doing medicine here in Turku several hundreds of years ago. The interior of the building is old too with several bedrooms to see including old furniture and artifacts. There's an old pharmacy lab in the back with tons of different artifacts. Theres a room were they were hanging herbs. Its cheap to see, and won't take long to get through the entire thing.

In the very heart of Turku by the Aura River you find this centuries old house, home of the Pharmacy Museum. The house itself is one of the few OLD houses saved from many destructing fires, which have destroyed ancient Turku many times. Come here and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Especially in the Summer time it is wonderful to sit in the backyard over a cup of coffee. You can hardly believ that you are in a city... Interesting museum!
