The stroll along the waterfront is lovely not unlike many other similar port towns of the Adriatic. there are shops and restaurants to fit any budget and many have local artisan goods. Of course there are the usual souvenir junk shops etc. there are restaurants for every taste and budget but what is unique is that this is still an active fishing port and fresh fish meals are always available. When we were there in Oct. they were catching calamari and it was delicious. One tip I will give you is that the locals shop just off of that "main street" here you will find local bakeries, a good grocery store, coffee shops, pharmacy etc. that area continues up a block in the little alley ways.

Interesting variety of shops and prices that will help stretch your holiday spending money Plus well-placed bars.

The main street has lots of small shops, some admitedly selling the usual souvenirs but in between you can find some excellent bargains in shoes and bags in particular. There a great many cafe bars and restaurants and lots of gelato - lovely but not good for the waistline!

There is no doubt about it Rovinj is a beautiful town . There are lots of things to buy should you be inclined . Some of the shops offer original artisan produced articles , which are wonderful . Art galleries add original art to the scene and then there is mass produced crap from China as well . Its a shame these shops are side by side in front of the port and offering such a tacky facade to an otherwise beautiful place . Ignore the tasteless tacky shops if you can and go for the nice quality things. The main street is a great stroll even if you do not need to buy anything at all.

Beautiful street whose charm destroying countless shops with goods from China and copies of famous brands. Such shops often their wares hung on building facades and doors of their shops. Judging by the offer they probably all have the same owner. However, in the street you may notice more original hand made trade with a variety of jewelry, to clothes and shoes but maybe a bit overpriced.

Rovinj is just such an interesting place, with so many windy, twisting streets. There are lots of cafes here where you can buy delicious ice creams, and some really interesting gift and souvenir shops. You could spend many hours exploring the street, it's great.

This is a good place to get lost. There are many shops and galleries displaying their wares. Also many little cafes, bistros and the occasional serious restaurant among the twisting streets. You won't really get lost. Keep going up and you come out at St Euphemia. Keep going down and you come out at the Adriatic.

A vibrant place with lots of restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops and galleries. The few hours I spent there were not enough. Just means I'll have to come back again for a longer visit :-)

The main street along with its various side streets and alleyways are full of old world charm. Cluttered with restaurants, galleries, boutiques - you name it and its there. The harbour and markets nearby you cannot go wrong. We came accross the early 18th century Franciscan Monastery on Street Edmondo De Amicis No22 which is a 5 minute pleasant uphill walk from the centre. It opens from 10am to 12 noon every day. Admission 10kuna (£1.10P) and incorporates a small museum and art gallery mainly of religious interest. This includes entry to the magnificent church/chapel which is still used daily. It really is worth the visit. One of the crypts has a huge nativity crypt with Bethlehem in the background. One of the largest and best I have seen.Yes the main street and surrounding area to me is a magical and vibrant place not to be missed.

Simply a must while visiting Rovinj. Walk through the old centre, you don't have to buy anything, window shopping will do just fine. Have a coffee, an ice cream and be sure to have enough time for an easy walk.

Less commercialised than I expected! Some genuine local souvenirs (but not very good quality!) Watch the cobbles - trip hazards!

Full of shops, trestaurants, galleries and people in a medieval townwith just a perfect atmosphere day or evening. The food market at the end of the street is well worth a visit as is the main port. Cobbled narrow streets running towards the cathedral full of unforgettable charm.Very well worth exploring the small areas around. You always see something different.
