My wife and I ended up having the 3-course wine pairing lunch here. We had booked a 5-course at another winery through our tour company, Adventure Life. So, I was in a bad mood to start. Word to the wise....tour operators in Mendoza feel that they can take advantage of unsuspecting tourists. Well, we let the management know we wanted the full five courses because I really wanted to experience some professional wine pairing. The server informed us after some checking that the kitchen could not accommodate us because the reservation they had received was for the 3-course. I insisted on tasting all 5 wines and they agreed. It all turned out fantastic. The food we did get was delicious and the wines were supurb (I do not say this lightly). We learned that the winemaker was the first woman to practice her craft commerincially in Argentina and the wines were so cutting edge. We had a torrentes, two blended bottles of red, oaked malbec and a late harvest sweet malbec. when we were finished, they did not charge us extra for the wine and were very nice. All the wines were technically perfect with each having unique and memorable qualities and we bought a bottle of each to take home. For the record, the views and gardens here were the best we saw...certainly as good as the #1 rated place! As an aside....I heard when we got home that they got picked up by a high end Napa Valley distributor. These will be some expensive wines in the USA.

We stopped in for a tasting after being recommended by the guys at Mendoza Holidays. So glad we did - although wish we had more time there, the staff was outstanding, view and patio area lovely. Highly recommeded.

One of my favorite meals ever. I went to Dominio del Plata as part of a wine tour with some friends. The beef (rib?) was some of the best beef I've had along with some great wines. I have a few days more left in Mendoza and am considering going back!

Our driver for the day of wineries and vineyards, recommended that we visit Dominio for lunch.....wow, was he on point. This a beautiful, scenic vineyard and sets for a very relaxing afternoon. They were very generous with the sampling of the wines with lunch; basically seemed as it was unlimited pours throughout the meal. My family, wife and 9yr old daughter all opted for the 3 course meal. This was our final day in Argentina, after being there for 11 days, I was tired of beef. Though, I caught a hint of the smell of the beef and couldn't resist as both my ladies ordered the pasta. The courses were delicious but I must say that the steak that I had that afternoon was probably 1 of the better meals I've had throughout Argentina; it was so good that my daughter had a taste and I wound up eating pasta for my lunch!!! The price point is perfect for what it included, lunch, wines and tour for 3 people was about $125 US Dollars which I thought was great. Also, the service provided by the staff during lunch was perfect. Thanks for a great day!!!

Very nice location, also used for weddings etc. restaurant on-site but did not try. Tour includes 3 wines, but they won't let you try the really good stuff. Quality range of wines, but most grapes are purchased and the winery ships 1.5 million bottles but still calls itself boutique. Right.

I absolutely loved this place – I think it was one of my two favorites. Such personalized attention by Andrea was awesome. She really made us feel comfortable. A good ambience!!! Will definably like to go back here!

Visited here by recommendation of our private wine guide and reserved a seating for lunch. Their food is out of this world and very reasonably priced! You have the option of ordering a la carte or from a fixed menu that includes glasses of wine. Nice to have the option. The restaurant is small but very pretty with great views of the vineyard and surrounding area. Highly recommend!!!

We really enjoyed our time at Dominio del Plata. It's an interestingly organized vineyard and winery that appears to be testing a few new techniques for making some of its flagship wines, so it was interesting to see what they're doing that didn't fit with everything else we saw during three days of wine tours. The grounds and scenery were beautiful - though it's hard to find an ugly vineyard in Mendoza - and we enjoyed our tour. The wines themselves were pretty good, but I didn't find them to distinguish themselves from the other places we visited. I don't remember having a clear preference for one of their wines, nor do I remember what we tried. I remember I liked them, but not that I would go out of my way to find any of them. They did have an interesting Mendoza-grown Torrontes, which is something that seems to be gathering steam in the region. The real gem of Dominio del Plata is the cooking class they offer. José, the chef of their restaurant (Oseria de Crear), was engaging and helpful, fun and passionate about his work. He taught us some very simple, but very useful, tactics for making easy dishes that looked like they came out of the pages of a cooking magazine. And he used ingredients that we could pick up in our local grocery store, so it wasn't like other classes we've seen where the dishes you learn to make are outside the realm of possibility back home. We ended up spending about 6 hours with José, who was a gracious and patient teacher. His passion for his job and for his restaurant was clear; the food we made was delicious.I have to recommend, if you visit Dominio del Plata, that you make every effort to spend some time with José. He's going to help take the winery and its restaurant to exciting places and it was a joy to learn from him.

Andrea is Ana amazing tour guide. The wines are smooth, full bodied, and amazing. We met Susana Balbo, the wine maker and owner and had a delightful afternoon. DO NOT MISS!
