Sea Lions all over the beach...great place to snorkel tons of multi colored little fish and a great place to swim...further out waves for surfers. $2.00 cab ride from Hotel Mar Azul. When leaving beach where you wait for taxis try some frozen coconut water if the lady is there with her cooler in the small bus/taxi shelter outside the beach.

Tons of lobos marinos and quite near to the city. Above all don't forget your snorkling kit! I think it's a MUST if you like snorkling

This place is great for a (free) snorkeling trip! Rent some equipment in town and male sure that you are at Las Loberias in the morning (with low tide). Marine Iguanas, sea lions, sea turtles, sharks... They are all here in the water if you're lucky. Great place to relax as well, highly recommended!

This is a very nice beach, quite close to town. Take water and/or vood and enjoy a nive (half) day in the sun, snorkeling, surfing or watching the sealions.

We walked from town to the main beach (about half an hour slow walking.) There were lots of seals, pelicans and marine iguanas lounging on the main beach. At the far end of the beach there is a path marked with black and white posts which takes you along the volcanic cliff edge where there were lots of nesting seabirds. This path is very uneven and rocky so care must be taken and best to walk in trainers as its very easy to slip and twist your ankle. The walk is worth it though for the view of the various birds and lots of marine Iguanas which you have to step over as they have no intention of moving out of your way - it's their island after all!You need to take water and plenty of suncream there is almost no shade or facilities of any kind.

This was my favorite of the 6 different activities we did. We took along a guide (in our case Dany of Shark Sky) who explained all of the animals on the way. We saw dozens of Marine Iguanas very close up, frigates, blue footed boobies, sea lions, lava lizards and snorkeled with sea turtles.

This is a wonderful place with lots of sea lions around, you can swim with the, be careful, lots of poppies around too. Reachable on foot or by bike. Walking to the reefs is also recommended you can see lots of iguanas and many birds including blue-footed boobies.

It is hard to write about the wonder that is Galapagos Islands. It is a national park and you cannot get enough of visiting as much as you can. It is the way it should between man and nature

Just went for a walk here and saw many more sea lions and pups. There are certainly better beaches on Santa Cruz and Isabela Islands in my opinion just because I like to walk on the beach. Scrambled over some volcanic rocks and saw marine iguanas. Probably there is a better experience at this beach if one surfs or snorkels. I did have one little finch land on my toe and another on my backpack as I was sitting on the beach here. Such friendly little birds!

Boobies, marine iguanas, sea lions, sea turtles, frigate birds and fish galore. This beach has it all. We saw four sea turtles within 15 minutes of snorkeling. The sea lions will also swim up to you and then turn away at the last moment. We even met an adorable baby sea lion (Laramie) that followed us around the beach. If you keep walking past the first snorkel spot you can see a bunch of marine iguanas and blue footed boobies. You can walk to the beach from the town, it's about 30 minutes, or take a taxi for $3 each way. You can set up a time for the taxi to pick you up, then don't pay them until they return, which is a pretty good deal because it can be so hot out and the walk isn't exactly scenic. Say "Hi" to Laramie for us!

I recommend Las Loberias if you a couple of hours free. We found it to be the perfect activity when we landed on San Cristobal in the afternoon.Take a taxi from downtown for $2 - ask them to come get you when you are ready to return! Walk down the path and see the beautiful beach which you will share with TONS OF SEA LIONS! There are so many cute baby sea lions also. They'll come right up to you - just don't touch them! Also, if you walk a little further, there is a little tide pool area you can walk into that is just gorgeous.

This is a quiet and lovely spot to snorkel. Waves are not too strong and you can see several sea turtles and schools of fish. The water is not murky, which helps. There are some sea lions, but not too many so it does not smell bad like Playa Carola or Playa Mann. Passed La Loberia, you can follow a path with amazing views.

The beach itself is full of sea lions, but the real gem here is snorkeling in the water, since you'll get to see everything from Eagle Rays, huge sea turtles, eels, and a bunch of colorful fishes. And you'll definitely get to swim with sea lions, which are playful and a joy to watch. On the road here, you'll pass some volcanic rocks which have a lot iguanas, in case you're into that.

Nice beach, nice place to beach snorkel. Cool hike up to a cliff but recommend sneakers or hiking shoes, not sandals or flip flops.

There was an abundance of Sea Lions on this beach who were not afraid from humans. Recommended when you are in San Christobal.
