I did the "Chimborazo Downhill" - ProBici's most popular tour.Don't let their pokey office deter you (it's upstairs inside a textile shop). I had a fantastic day with a very knowledgeable guide. The tour costs $40-$65 depending on which of 5 routes you choose to go down (so you can vary the difficulty). The tour was very well-organised including hotel pick-up and drop-off. We had no problems with any equipment. Highly recommended!

I spent two days on bikes around Riobamba, the first day I hired a bike and went on a circuit recommended by Galo, the instructions for this trip were very clear and super easy to follow, Galo recommend different places to stop and I had an amazing day looking around the area, the countryside was stunning! The second day I did the Chimborazo tour. I had so much fun and our guide knew so much about the area, Galo had also given a great description of the trip the night before. Again it was beautiful country and was great to be off the main road for most of the trip! Galo came to the bus terminal with my bag so that I could get straight on a bus after the tour! So helpful! Amazing tours and extremely friendly and helpful people!

We had a great experience with these people. I highly recommend them. Galo, the owner, had clear and detailed e-mails outlining what to expect. He worked out a tour that was tailored to us. He also tried to help us when we could not reach the lodge were were scheduled to stay at by phone as he knew the owners. Our tour guide was his brother, Fausto. he was very knowledgeable and kind. We always felt safe and cared for. He even dropped off a small bag of chocolates that we had left in his van to our lodge the next day. His helper, Diego, was also helpful and kind. They were enjoyable people to spend the day with. The views were amazing, and we didn't have to deal with cars (our request). We enjoyed seeing a small village and also a boy shepparding his animals near some ruins. They had very good equipment, but we did bring our own waterproof gloves. Wear a lot of layers of clothes and if you need to take any off, you can put them in the van. I hope we can return someday and take another tour with them.

Excellent, really professional tour with topnotch bikes and protection material. Guides and owner speak good English. Instructions and preperations are really professional. Great service, with pick-up and drop-off at hotel; they even take care of your bags and drop you off with them at the busstation if you're in a hurry afterwards. The support vehicle is always ready to take you and your bike if the views are too breathtaking. So Riobamba isn't exactly a tourist hotspot, but is does have the magnificant Chimborazo. Pro Bici literally goes the extra mile!

Great day with this company. Thorough planning and in depth detail the day before of different routes and what to expect was provided (perhaps too much but far better more than less). We opted for long route which included the trip to the silver mine. My husband who is an experienced mountain biker and myself who is a novice both really enjoyed the non-technical biking, scenery and facts provided by our experienced English speaking guide Diego. Chimborazo is awe-inspiring. Anyone should enjoy this tour no matter what level of experience you are! Thank you Pro bici.

Pro Bici was top notch from the beginning to the end. Galo the proprietor is a person one must sit down with if you want to know anything about Riobamba or Ecuador for that matter. The guy is an Encyclopedia on wheels. The way he walks you thru the different trails and routes available to you is a tour on its own. Very accommodating. Diego my guide was as knowledgable and helpful thru the whole trip. These guys made everything over the top. Now the experience itself...I hiked up Mt. Chimborazo to 5145m that on its own was a bucket list checked. But getting to ride from 4800m down to 3000+ in a span of 70km was an experience difficult to put into words. From the base of Chimborazo of moonscape surroundings thru single track trails, all the way thru inca ruins, you'll have a bike route that will be difficult if not impossible to top.

I have been traveling for many years to different sides of the world but never have met such frendliness and positive guides. Both Diegos (they have same names) were just great and made our trip Chimborazo Mountain Bike safe, interesting and we had awesome time. We did not feel like on the trip we paid for but just like with friends. The really enjoy their work and do they best that you feel exeptional and comfortable. At the end of our trip I was even more impresed by their helpfulness. It was late but we had to catch the bus to Banos. They were helping us to catch the bus on the street, then when it turned out impossible due to number of people traveling before the long weekend, Diego engaged even his mother to buy us tikets. Then we were speeded to the terminal and caught the last bus at the very last moment and got tickets from Diego's mother. Diegos thank you for the wonderful day!!! I wish I always meet people like you on my way!!!

I had a great time doing a spectacular bike ride down Chimborazo this past June. Galo was great in accommodating my last minute sign-up to the trip. Highly recommend!

Such a great team with a great package! After hearing the different packages on offer, we stayed an extra hour chatting to Galo about anything and everything Ecuador. The whole adventure was a dream from then, they even kept our bags and when dropping us at the station after our tour they had bought our tickets in advance. The biking trip was also amazing- the most beautiful mountain, adventure, adrenaline, scenery and the guides were awesome! It was a full day, 7.30am and we ended up getting dropped at the station at 7.15pm! We hiked up to the top refugio on Chimborazo, mountain biked through valleys, huts, past canyons... It was incredible! Definitely go with Pro Bici!

Pro bici did an awesome job of describing the tour in the office above a textile factory before i signed up. Riding down Chimborazo off road was spectacular its a great route passing through diverse scenery! Awesome views & saw much wildlife. Alessandro the guide was very genuine & knowledgeable & told great stories from the Incas to the history of the volcano & wildlife in between biking to historic sites on the volcano. Was chased by dogs but always safe as the truck follows & protects you. Definitely recommend :)Chris (England)

We had the pleasure of biking down Chimborazo with Pro Bici. Their office is a tad challenging to find (on the 2nd floor of a cloth store), but they were very helpful and friendly in matching us to one of their many bike tours in the Riobamba region. The tour didn't include lunch, but they can order you sandwiches through a local bakery, which turned out to be delicious (on real French baguette!!)Foster our guide was very knowledgeable and his love for sharing the history and fauna of Chimbarazo was contagious. We chose a route with dirt roads on their recommendation, and we definitely didn't look back! The route meandered from alpine tundra down through farmer fields and it was a special way to see the Ecuadorian countryside. There was one uphill section that was challenging (where Foster encouraged anyone who didn't feel up to it ride in the car). As an avid city biker, I found the dirt roads at times to be challenging, but nothing that was impossibly difficult. The bikes were not new, but in great condition and clearly well maintained. A fantastic day all in all!

This Downhill Biking of Chimborazo should be super high up on the Ecuador bucket list. The scenery, the adventure, the history and having "Vicuñas" racing you across the path are worth going all the way to Riobamba.Galo (who speaks perfect English) the owner a super passionate naturalist guide of the area is incredibly serious about safety and to let you get the most out of your day (this is a whole day activity). We where lucky enough to get Alejandro as a guide for our self's. He was patient and very knowledgeable. The best was to see all the guys of the other companies race down the tar road in the distance while we had all the fun to us alone ;p

Pro Bici will provide guy you with an amazing downhill ride from Chimborazo. I can only recommend taking the longest route, as the dirt roads are the best part. Owner is very friendly and gives a lot of information.
