Thank you for your positive comments in view of the recent changes, as on the 8th August 2014, after almost 11 years of very successful performances and nine awards in the 1830’s Cottage Richmond, Miriam has retired from regular performances of the cultural heritage show “ Turn the Key of Time” .The show may now only be available to schools and groups booking and at another venue in Hobart. Visitors staying at Mulberry Cottage B&B can visit inside the old Cottage for FREE with “A Quick Peep at the Past” and get a discount if buying the book or DVD on site. Tourists showing proof of purchase, may still get a little taste of Grannie’s life into her cottage. The second improved and colour edition of Miriam’s book “Turning the Key of Time at Grannie Rhodes’” and the DVD of the show is for sale from Mulberry Cottage B&B and various shops in Richmond village and Hobart.

Must see is the Grannie Rhodes show. Worthwhile if you are visiting Richmond. She can tell the story so well

What a remarkable job Miriam has done . She has furnished the cottage with loads of clutter similar to how it must have looked in the 19th and early 20th century. She gives a realistic portrayal of Grannie Rhodes in telling the audience her story from England to Australia and on to the time when Miriam bought the cottage. There is still no water or power and is more or less as it was in Grannie Rhodes' day..

A visit to meet Grannie would have to rate as one of our most enjoyable experiences. Richmond (not far out of Hobart) is a delightful town and Grannie Rhodes is the star. For a delightful visit into history, so beautifully presented, I would thoroughly recommend a visit. It was a great pleasure to meet Grannie.

Even my five year old was riveted for the whole 45 minutes. Miriam interweaves her own story with the stories of the family that once owned this small cottage. She tells the story in verse and it transports you through time. Very interesting and intriguing, and even a little bit spooky.

That this performance contains so much of interest and is presented by just the one person is amazing! The oral history makes the cottage come alive, I loved it.

This is truly unique and a 'must see' if you're passing thru Richmond - I think the show is available at 3pm and 6pm. It's a rather lovely wander thru convict history and is very 'immediate' (on the spot) which we particularly enjoyed. Do go if you have a sense of history and culture.
