The market is open on Sundays at the Hastings Show Ground. There are many stalls each offering delicious food all grown or produced by local growers. It is difficult to pick out any stall because they all offered such amazing food. We tried cheese, pizza, honey, ice creams and bought food to take home.

We love going on Sunday to pick up some of our fave items for the week as well as sitting out to enjoy the country air and ambience. There's a huge variety of stalls w/ fresh HB produce and a variety of locally made artisan products. Plus, great coffee, pastries and brekkie yummies to be had and the sound of sweet music in the air. A perfect beginning to a Sunday morning.

This is an excellent way to start a Sunday. This Farmers market is open on a Sunday morning and is one of the best in the country. There is a huge range of food ready to eat, ready to take away for a picnic lunch or to add to the weeks food shopping. The venue has some shade to sit and enjoy a freshly squeezed juice and a bacon butty or what ever takes your fancy while you enjoy the music. There is plenty of free parking, toilets and an ATM available. Local products are available ranging from fruit/vege, plants, cheese, meat, sauces, wine, fresh bread, chai tea and so much more. We go each time we are in Hastings and will definitely go again.

Gorgeous on a sunny day. Good coffee available, perhaps the best bakery stall in the area and masses of local product. Fruit and veges are a little cheaper on the road side stalls but it's really nice to talk to the producers. Also an excellent plant stall that sells some unusual vegetable plants. Worth a visit for supplies and breakfast.

Wonderful morning out. Plenty of variety at this well run and organised market. Lovely treed location. We enjoyed a lovely brunch here and we were spoilt for choice.

During the summer months, this is one of those must do's on a Sunday when in Hastings. There's a wide range of food stalls from local producers - most of whom allow you to taste their various wares. There's usually music or some form of entertainment, and people just relaxing and enjoying themselves. I can highly recommend the chilli stall, and the venison black pudding was just fantastic.

A foodies heaven. What an excellent selection of vendors and foods. Bought food to bring back to Auckland with me. Well done Hastings.

As part of our visit to the Bay we wanted something to do on the Sunday morning and asked about Farmers Markets. We were told of the Hastings Farmers Market at the Hastings A&P grounds. It was clearly very popular and we came away with fresh fruit and vegetables and breads. Of course there was a lot more there e.g. wines, snacks, seafood etc but we got what we went looking for. I understand it starts around 8.30am and I would highly recommend getting there earlier rather than later as a lot of the fruit and vegetables had already gone.

If you go in early summer the market is outside in park like surroundings. Fabulous stalls with local produce and flavours. Easy to wander around and sample (there are plenty on offer). One of my favourite stands was DeNegri. Highly recommend this experience.

I love this market, but I only tend to come to buy stuff for Xmas because I don't live close enough, and some things are a little too expensive to buy on a regular basis. Great way to fill up on fancy, different, tasty, unusual food for a special day of the year. The atmosphere is great, under the trees, with lots of like-minded people. Very relaxing, with lots of free parking available in a beautiful setting.

Start Sunday with a visit to the Hastings Farmers Market and you won't be disppointed. Parking is right next to the markets and as you wander along the path you can smell the aroma of Bay Espresso's Coffee Cart wafting in the breeze, accompanied by some sort of musical melody. All the stalls are under cover during the winter, which creates a great ambience for tastings of all sorts -fresh juice/vege smoothies, chocolate, dried meats, cheeses, olive oil, fig products and lots more! So sit down, sip your coffee, listen to the music, then buy to your hearts content. This is a thoroughly enjoyable outing for a Sunday morning!

There's a much smaller version of the farmers' market in Napier on Saturday mornings (9 until 1, in Emerson Street near Clive Square) and I think the stalls in Napier are also at the market in Hastings on Sunday morning, but the Hastings version (8.30 until 12.30 at the A&P Showgrounds on Kenilworth Road) is much bigger and better - vegetables, fruit, preserves, breads, baking, walnut brittle, olive oils, fish, meats, sausages, gourmet delights of all kinds. You can get coffee and cooked treats for your breakfast once you are there so go early (the savoury crepes are well worth trying, but there's waffles for the sweet-toothed, and of course coffee). There's an ATM machine for when you run out of cash because you got tempted by everything. Shady trees. Plenty of parking. Toilets.

This is a fantastic market. Not too huge, but very local and has lots of great things. We are tourists and were told to stop by on the way out of town and are so glad we did! Wonderful people and great selection. I will second another users review, don't eat beforehand!

This market only sells local produce / food items. The growers / manufacturers generally run their own stalls so are able to answer any questions. The standard and quality are high as is the variety of items, including vegetables that are not generally available at supermarkets. You can also buy food items to eat there, sitting at tables or on the grass, such as great bakery items, bacon and egg rolls, all locally produced and iced tea or freshly made fruit juices or berry ice-creams. There is generally live music and a real market atmosphere, In winter or rainy weather the market moves inside, so it is on all year round. Definitely a regular haunt and place to take visitors.
