tiny little museum at the price of a huge museum, takes about five minutes to walk through it, way overpriced for what it is, dont waste your time
This is a must for anyone who wants to learn more about local history! The exhibits are constantly changing so don't miss out!
Worst museum i have ever been to.... Gift shop was nice, so if you want to pay to go to a gift shop, have at it...otherwise save your time and money.
While this little local-history museum has some fine exhibits, it is their Gift Shop which is a drawing card for me. Here, all the merchandise is handmade by artists withing a 100-mile radius of Cleveand, TN, and their quality is excellent.
Me & My Mom & My Aunt , Her family went to Museum Center at 5ive Points... My Aunt payed for all of us to go to this Museum Center at 5ive Points.. I wouldn't of payed to see this Museum..
The permanent exhibit details the history of the region from the time of the Cherokees to present day. There is something of interest for all ages. In addition there are special short term exhibits the showcase a particular period or items from the collection.Well worth the small admission fee and the time spent viewing the facility.
The museum portion of the center is actually quite small, but well done, and very specific to the area. The great part of the place for out of towners was the gift shop. It was very impressive for a town that size. It's filled with work in various mediums of local artists. The clerk was also more than happy to talk about different pieces and artists. It seems that the center is used for many community cultural events, as well as some rotating exhibits. For a visit, I would recommend looking at the center's calendar for special events.
While the displays are rather small, you can still learn alot about the area from this little local history gem. There are lots more things to find and enjoy in the gift shop. The staff is just excellent!
This museum has a permanent display of the history and culture of the Cleveland area. There is a beautiful hand-carved Indian Head statue outside that has a story of it's own. They frequently have temporary exhibits such as many unique hand-made quilts. They sponsor fun and educational activities and camps for kids, and our family always enjoys viewing the pumpkin carving contest entries at the museum during the Cleveland Block Party at Halloween. The Cleveland story-tellers also share stories at various times, including the Halloween events.
The museum has been here about 11 years. It has a permanent exhibit of local (area) history...prehistoric to modern times. There are wonderful temporary exhibits of many types. The annual quilt show is about to start. The museum is also used for social events: weddings, plays, parties, fund raisers, etc. Great staff and volunteers. You will enjoy it. There is also an awesome gift shop consisting of a variety of lovely items by area artists.
