My husband heard great things about this beer. So even though we were staying in LA Crosse, WI, we made the hour drive to Decorah for this brewery. While I can no longer have most beer as I'm gluten intolerant, my husband (a beer "snob") thoroughly enjoyed their beer. He tried them all, but his favorite was the Naughty 90, aged in Oak barrels. I smelled all his tastings and was wishing I could try them... they smelled unique and delicious. I just wish they would bottle the Naughty 90 so we could take it back home with us. The place is quaint, cute, and relaxing. Everything I expect from a small Iowa town!

My husband and I stopped in for a beer on a Saturday evening around 8 PM. We were quickly served. I tried the Dorothy (a lighter beer) and my husband tried the Pseudo Sue (one of the more popular beers served). Both were enjoyed! I agree with another poster, that food such as availability of appetizers would be nice. What I most enjoyed is the ambiance. It's nothing too fancy, but we saw all types -- from college kids to an older couple enjoying a beer. We felt comfortable and not out of place like you can when you open the door to a small-town bar establishment. You can't beat a town like Decorah though for places to explore, so if you're looking for a cool way to end your day or need a break, stop in here -- you will not be disappointed!

They sure have a good thing going here with their craft beers. No surprise to them, the lack of parking and no food service keeps this place from growing too much and justifies my deduction of a star in the review. Nestled in beautiful Decorah, it's worth a trip. I wish them well with their new production facility.

The beers are interesting and full of flavor. They have a good crowd but need help in the serving of customers. They need a waitress to come to tables so you do not have to stand in a long line to order. Parking is a little tight as well. A fun little spot in Decorah.

A buddy and I traveled up to the Toppling Goliath Brewing Company over the 4th of July weekend to try some of their beers. I had had one of their beers and had hoped to grab a couple of growlers to take home with me. I tried a sample flight but was severely disappointed when I noticed that the two beers that I wanted to get growlers of were not available due to shortages. I highly recommend the Pseudo Sue and the Golden Nugget for the hop lovers out there. Pseudo is a pale ale but has a bit more hop aroma and flavor than a normal pale, almost an IPA. It is one of my favorite all-time beers. The only negative is that I specifically called that morning to ask about the growlers and even asked if Pseudo was available in the growler. I was told yes but not told that currently the supply was too low to fill them. It wasn't an entirely wasted trip though as I was still able to get a pint of it and I did fill a couple of growlers with Golden Nugget.

The outdoor patio at Toppling Goliath is hands down one of my favorite places in Decorah. Grab a beer, some friends, and a bowl of pretzels, and you're all set to watch the evening roll in over the Upper Iowa River. Only things I would wish for are later hours and more food available, but they do allow outside food either brought in or delivered. Highly recommended, especially the Dorothy's Lager or, if you like IPA, the Golden Nugget.

I always stop at Toppling Goliath when I'm in Decorah. My daughter is a student at Luther and she's usually busy, so I stop in to try the beers and get a growler. There are always friendly and interesting people sitting at the bar in the tap room and I always have a good beer and a good time. The call themselves the "Hop Patrol" and I love hops - it's perfect!

We like the beer, sampling of the different beers, and outdoor patio. Need a few more tables outdoors. Bartenders need to be a little more social. Nice atmosphere.

We made an impromptu trip to visit this tasting room as my husband has been wanting to go for quite some time. We arrived around 2:30 on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed. There was a line to get beers, despite multiple people working. We tried multiple offerings and all were really good. I am not someone who likes really hoppy beer, so I stuck to the Dorothy and the Rush brews and enjoyed them both (Rush being the favorite). Be sure to grab a few bottles to take home, as it is hard to find even in Iowa.

Amazing brews, great atmosphere, and friendly staff! We took a weekend brew-cation to Decorah to get Toppling Goliath on tap! It was well worth it. There beers are top notch. Please start distributing in MN!

Nice place to have a few specialty beers. Service was good and nice relaxing place to wind down. Not the best location on a hill and by a 4 way intersection.

I'm not a beer guy, but my friend who is really liked the place and the beers. It's nice inside with a nice patio. The staff were friendly.

We love the beer this place offers and order it whenever and wherever we can. The "Dorthea" is one of our favorites. The IPA's are excellent. The "growlers" offer an opportunity to drink high end beer or ale at its freshest. What a great addition to Decorah. The outdoor veranda is great fun on a warm evening with friends. Sometimes there's music too.
