Santa Fe is an excellent example of cross culture influences with the Spanish, the local North American Indians, the Mexicans and the European settlers. This museum gives great insight into one quarter of this mix and is dedicated to the wonderful arts and the cultural story of the local pueblo tribes.

We had a great time visiting this museum! Our 6 year old was fascinated by all of the exhibits, especially the children's room which was interactive and fun. We learned a lot and we had a great time. I especially appreciated the sensitivity the museum takes with displaying sacred burial items from various native groups. Obviously, a well done and fabulous place!

V well done. We spent several hours taking in special and regular exhibits. The culture pass let us into most sane Fe museums and this was our favorite

This is a must-see museum in Santa Fe. We have been several times and enjoyed every visit. We recently went to see the excellent special exhibit on turquoise. Stunning jewelry; information about the various styles and types of craftsmanship. We were fortunate to have a tour led by the docent Henry, an anthropologist who is knowledgeable about Native American customs and culture. The exhibit was good on its own, but Henry made it even more memorable. A delightful morning.

Amazing scope and depth. Great art and historical artifacts. The outdoor sculpture garden is beautiful. A must-see in Santa Fe.

In some ways this smallish museum was my favorite because I can not think of anywhere else I've visited where you can see modern Native American art. A bonus was the screening room where we watched 3 short dramas/ documentary films about the American and Canadian native people's 20 th century experience. Not enough focus is put on this period in our history - not one of our finest moments as Americans, for sure. My teenager knew virtually nothing about our treatment of Native Peoples...

Convenient location. Quality exhibits of outstanding Native American Art. Reasonably priced (Senior, student and New Mexico resident rates). I've been twice. Exhibits regularly rotated. Will visit again.

This museum has a nice collection of artifacts and art, some contemporary. If you are in the southwest, it makes total sense to learn more about the history, culture, and art. i had a wonderful free docent tour of the special turquoise exhibit (February, 2015) and it was very educational. The outside sculpture garden is excellent, especially on a sunny day.

This is a major achievement in creating a learning experience that is not well known. The beauty of the displays is a major achievement. The turquoise trail exhibit is very impressive. great gift shop.

We enjoyed seeing the many artifacts and reading about them. The turquoise exhibit was especially beautiful for those who enjoy seeing quality jewellery and other beautiful things. It is well worth a visit. The cost is $9.00 for out-of-state visitors, although we had the $25.00 museum pass.

Don't go into the this museum, was what the first sign said, unless you are in the mood and want to learn more about the people that inhabited and still inhabit these lands. Never before been asked to get into the right frame of mind to visit a museum. But it was that type of place. A place that showed more than baskets and pots, but a culture and the differences and similarities among the native peoples and their cultures. These differences and similarities occurred through time and by region. It is a wonderful place that I would visit again and still lean more about the native people of the southwest North America.

This is a most extra ordinary museum where you can spend days actually learning about the Native Americans, especially in New Mexico. It is located on Museum Hill, Camino Lejo, Santa Fe, NM

After many visits to Santa Fe we finally made it to Museum Hill and to this museum. We picked a good day for a museum visit since it rained most of the day. (which was needed and very nice) We enjoyed the displays and the and the staff was very helpful and well informed.

When in Santa Fe one is well advised to visit the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture - it features contemporary art by Native Americans, well displayed and appealing to the appreciating public. There is also a great bookstore within the building that is solely dedicated to Native Americana from all aspects, culture, history and contemporary.

The museum carries tons of archives and activities for kids. There is a lot of interaction and the tour was exceptional for describing the past events in NM. It is a best alternative for spending your time and it updates it's historical facts; up to trend, not repetitive. The shops are a bit pricey, yet holds unique materials according to the Natives cultures.
