What a great park...go biking, walking, go to the dog park.We love the dog park. They have separated areas for big and small dogs. Can't wait for the cold weather to be over to get back out to the dog park
We go here regularly just as a fam day or getaway when the weather is right, my family loves it here and so do I, very safe quiet environent
What a great jewel for the city of Dallas. The trails around White Rock are not only beautiful, but relaxing. I enjoy the beauty of the lake and love looking at the fantastic homes that surround it. Such a relaxing place.
You can bike, jog, walk around the lake. Nice little hills to have a picnic and view the water. I don't recomend at night, especially alone or by unchaperoned ladies.
While it can be crowed at times it is not that bad for being in a big city. It do have a bit of a trash problem at some places. But a nice place to walk around or ride a bike. While all the trail's are easy to walk and all are paved so are not out in the wild.
Whether riding your bike, walking, running or strolling with your family, this lake is great for people watching, enjoying a picnic or kayaking, this is the spot! 11-12 miles around the easy trail, it usually is crowded on the weekends and enjoyable, especially when the sailboat regata or the dragon boat races are in swing. The Dallas Arboretum has a separate gate entry from Garland Road, and although the lake is free, the cost for this beatiful and award-winning botanical garden is well worth the ticket if you should have a few hours to enjoy.
Run, bike, walk, swim, paddle, sit, barbecue, and relax in this great recreational spot. Well worth the time of anyone. The trail is about 9-10 miles around.
This is a fantastic place for a family/friends picnic location. Its also great for runners and cyclist! The path around the park is a little less than 10 miles. The homes that circle the lake are gorgeous and make for great scenery. There are water fountains all around the park, but only port-o-potties, which sucks, but there is a quick drive to the gas station for a clean toilet.
Ok, so it's not really a lake to me, but it's a great place to get out and bike, run, walk, or stroll around. Always lots of people out and about.
Very nice park; was quite a bit more than I expected as I've once lived in Dallas. But they've really done a nice job with it.
WRL is the best place to run in central Dallas. Wide running path which is shared with bikes in places, plenty of water/toilets/port-a-potties, NO CARS, safe, great scenery (including the women), ample parking almost anywhere around lake. Loop around lake is a little over 9 miles. Can adjust route to take advantage of wind or avoid wind. Run here every visit to Dallas.
The lake is very large so it is a great place for all kinds of activities. They have play grounds for children, trails for runners and bicyclist. They have companies that rent canoes and kayaks during the summer. Parking isn't an issue either because there are several lots along the lake to park.
I come to walk every summer here and love to just drive around the beatiful lake and take my dog to the doggie park, he loves going there and meet neww doggie friends
My husband and I ride our bikes at the White Rock Lake trail at every opportunity. On weekends there are always enough people on the trail to feel safe but not so many as to feel crowded.I like this trail because it offers distance (9.3 miles) but does not have a lot of steep incline. I have a bad knee, and the steeper incline trails are difficult for me.
We love being outside. This is a great little get away, especially if you don't feel like driving an hour or more to really get away. If you are an avid outdoorsman, you may be a little disappointed. However this is great for something close and well kept.
