This is a lot of fun, especially for kids. There are lots of fish (carp), ducks, geese, and some seagulls. The facilities are nice - good parking, restrooms, and gift shop. The scenery around Pymatuning Lake is spectacular!

Millions of fish (carp)...great for the kids they get to feed all the fish...buy the bread up the street way cheaper. The ducks will walk on the fish to get bread. Definitely something to see

We visited here on quite a warm day but out of season. We saw plenty of huge carp? In the spillway and the ducks did have to walk over them at times.Children would enjoy a visit but make sure you take bread. If the fish don't eat it the seagulls and ducks will.

Don't forget you bread bag. We were driving around and saw a lot of cars. My husband parked and we saw people with their bags of bread. We did not understand why. We got close and we could saw a hundred of bigger fish I ever seen and a lot of ducks too. We did not have bread but we can see how people throw bread and a bunch of fish fight for them. I think was a different experience for me. I liked it. I come back for sure. The view is wonderful

Visited here in July 2012. Had never been before and did not know what to expect. It was truly fascinating. It would be a great place to take the kids. Bring a loaf of bread and watch the fun!

You have got to visit the Linesville Spillway! Buy your cheap loaf of bread and get prepared to be amazed. I'm 56 years old and I visit every year when I come up for my Family Reunion. My Dad took me & my brothers when we were little and I still love going!

We visited the spillway as it is the "main attraction" of the area. It was a freak-show, just like we expected. Thousands of carp with gapping mouths, begging for food. Water thick and green with fish mucus. The sounds, the smells. You can buy bread to feed the fish at the spillway, cheaper that in the grocery store. And the funny thing about this are the signs posted along the railing to let you know that the area is an important fish nursery and that disturbing the fish is illegal. And yet feeding 5 lbs of white bread to a million invasive carp is okay. Well, the kids enjoyed seeing all this fish, and it is a sight to behold. What the ecological consequences are and ethical consideration, that is another question. As far as the area is concerned, there is a nice large parking area and fairly new walkways along one side of the reservoir.

I have been visiting the spillway for approximately 30 years and every time it is still as cool as the first. The carp are hilarious to watch and for bird watchers this place is awesome. Between sea gulls, geese, mallards, wood ducks, and others there's lots to see! If you forget your bread buy it at the snack shop. Great place to take little or big kids

I've been coming here since I was little. Now I bring my kids and they love it! It is a carp feeding frenzy and that's what makes it so much fun! I have to comment about a review I read though recently. These fish are not trapped in the "hole". They can simply swim under the bridge and lead the rest of their lives in the lake. Always a fun place to bring the kids! Oh and bring lots of bread or There is a small red cottage barn just before you get here that sells bread loaves 2 for $1. (If your traveling north to the spillway on Hartstown rd).

this place kind of reminded me of an alfred hitchcock movie, like the birds but in the water. when we were there there were lots of people throwing bags of bread, bagels, etc into the water and the carp were just throwing themselves on top of each other to get to it. It kind of made both myself and the folks I was with sick to our stomachs and we didnt stay long. if you can look over the fish the lake and scenery is very pretty, but hard to tune those large fish out.

What a fun place to take the kids on a Summer day. It is 'Unbelievable'..The Ducks are walking on the Fish. There are sooo many fish. Take a lot of bread, rolls, Crackers and did I mention Lots of Bread. These fish cannot eat enough bread. This is a must see attraction !!!

I went here on the fourth of July weekend looking to see Pymatuning Reservoir. When driving to it, I noticed alot of cars parked and decided to see the spillway. In seeing the spillway I noticed people at the railings and then saw more Carp then I'd ever seen in my life near the surface eating bread the people were tossing in the water. I gotta say it was disturbing to see that mainly because the greatest concentration of carp were in a part of the water below a small waterfall where they could not get back into the rest of the lake. In a way, I felt what I witnessed with these carp was a metaphor for the welfare state- these carp are unable to move back up into the rest of the lake, they keep getting larger and less able bodied, and they are trained to wait for handouts of free bread from the people visited. The fact that carp are classified by scientists to be a trash fish/bottom feeding fish only confirms that metaphor. This reservoir overall was disappointing at least from the car drive standpoint, it did not seem like a . I wish I could say more good things about it but it didnt seem like a special drive. If you like feeding fish, youll like it here, if you are disturbed about what I have written above, you are better off not going here.

My kids loved feeding the carp, geese & ducks! A whole loaf of bread can be purchased for a $1 which the fish never seem to tire of eating (though my husband tells me that fish do get full) but there are so many that it just never seems to happen. It was fun to watch the fish jump up over the spillway, fisherman catch catfish on the other side of the spillway and just spend time at such a beautiful lake. Bathrooms are clean and were not crowded. Cute little gift shop & friendly staff.

If you feared the ocean after the movie Jaws, you may be afraid to swim in inland lakes after seeing Lips at the Spillway. The carp are concentrated to a degree that they from an almost solid surface on the water. We did not see the ducks walking on their backs, but the ducks and geese were there to compete with the carp for the bread being thrown in by tourist. If in the area, worth the stop.

With four generations in tow, we all had a delightful time feeding bread to the fish and ducks, watching the fish jump the spillway, and strolling along the spillway. We appreciated the handicapped accessibility for Grandma's walker.
