Beautiful layout with wonderful and inspiring gifts, art and literature. Perfect for cards, a special gift or just a cup of coffee!

Follow the path of Jesus Christ in his last days on earth and his resurrection into heaven. Each station has a narration of its significance by Bill Curtis (former tv broadcaster). The statues are made of bronze and the environment is set in the times of Christ. Truly a spiritual journey even for the unbeliever; but especially for those who are called. There are tours and golf carts available for those who need them. Donations are accepted. The entire operation is armed by volunteers save a few employees. I live close by, so I am on the path quite often and always end for the better. Winter access is not advised unless you are sure of foot and adventurous. If you are in need of prayerful time or private reflection, taste and see!

It is a beautiful and inspirational place to visit. The detail used in the statuary makes Christ's journey to Calvary come alive. Every time we go we see something we hadn't noticed before. It is so peaceful. A "must see" place. The gift shop has a lot to offer too.

I took a walk through this beautiful shrine and have not been able to get it out of mind since. The best time of year to go is spring thru fall because of the beautiful landscaping. A must to see if you are any where near St. JOHN. IN.

Nothing interesting to see and pretty boring. It has a big gift shop selling overpriced items. I thought I might learn something here but didn't.

It was super crowded when we went, but everyone was there for the same reason. It was so moving, and I would definitely love to go again. The gift shop is great, too.

The tour of the Stations of the Cross is excellent and inspiring. The gift shop offers unique and lovely gifts: beautiful jewelry, a wide variety of books and CDs, unique crosses, wall art, cards, etc. People who work at the Shrine are friendly and very helpful; many are volunteers. Overall, it's a wonderful experience.

The layout of the stations of the cross is excellent. You really feel like you are walking in the steps of Jesus Christ. The music and the dialog at each station really moves you. The landscaping at each station is fantastic. Don't miss the gift shop.

The prayer path is wonderful, walk along the footsteps of Jesus, press the buttons and listen to the stations of the cross. Beautiful bronze statues at each station. Narrated by Chicago's Bill Curtis, the path is such a moving experience and draws people from all over the world. A local mans dream became a reality & the Shine of Christ's Passion was born. There is also a wonderful gift shop with beautiful items to choose from. Well worth the drive to St. John, In. to see this amazing religious experience. They have guides that take you on the path in a cart for those who can't walk & guides that also do walking tours or you can just still the path on your own. There is water and other beverages available for purchase along with some snacks. You can spend an hour or two walking the path or less. I really recommend visiting The Shrine of Christ's Passion.

We arrived 5 minutes after the official closing, but the staff told us we could still go through since others were still on the path. The sound quality at each station was phenomenal! You basically push a button at each station to hear the biblical context of the figures. The message is beautiful. We did not go all the way to the church and it took us about 45 minutes. I'm glad we did it. Well try to do it again some time!

Time of reflection and rebuilding faith. Moving religious experience. A walk thru the last days of Jesus life

This was amazing. We were passing through, saw the signs and the statue and I knew we would never be back in the area so we should stop. What a pleasant surprise! The audio was fantastic, it was an incredible journey. It took us about thirty minutes and unfortunately we did not have time to see the church but the walk and the stations were beautiful. The audio was helpful and well narrated. The gift shop was full of both spiritual and regular gifts. Go a little out of your way to see this. Our kids are all under age twelve and they enjoyed it also.

The stations of the cross come to life at this well done Shrine in St. John, Indiana. There is a donation request, not an entry fee. This place is actually worth an entry fee. All of the people in our group were somewhat surprised by the gift shop. It is large, like the biggest Hallmark store you have ever seen. Items range from $2 trinkets to $4000 paintings. We were surprised at the political undertones of the artwork. We felt those undertones took away from the magnificent meaning of the Shrine.Be advised that the walk is long and can be difficult for elderly and/or injured people. We had both in our party. Take advantage of wheelchair rentals or bring your own. There is a grade change about 75% of the way through the walk. It is hot in the late afternoon.

I took a brief side trip just to get off the interstate for a few minutes, (8 miles) and saw the signs leading to this place. I saw a beautiful metal statue of St. Mary, and thought that was all I would see. However, when I went inside the marvelous gift shop, I found that there was SO MUCH more....a walk depicting Christ's walk to the cross. It was such a beautiful walk - 40 bronze statues with beautifully detailed faces of Christ and those he encountered during his last days. When you reach the area where the three crosses are, you can see beautiful St. John the Evangelist Church in the background. Before you get to this Shrine, you will go through Crown Point, where you will find a beautiful old courthouse on the square.

I planned this stop as part of our vacation. More then 8 hrs out of our way from our original destination. I was worth it !!! The experience is something I will hold close to my heart. You can't help, but feel something special when you take the walk. Ive been to many shrines and this one is the best. It was also a good learning experience for my kids. The gift shop has something for everyone and prices were reasonable. The staff was helpful and gracious.
