hadn't been to the park for many years and was very pleasantly surprised by the many improvements and upgrades that had been made. plenty of room for the kids, lots of trees and plantings, nice covered areas, new playground equipment, and clean restrooms. nice way to spend a warm spring, summer or fall afternoon.

Nice facility. Personally I'm leery about going in the water, esp in the summer time, but they do post the water quality religiously here. My kids take rowing and sailing on the lake in the summer time. It's picturesque. Great place for a picnic.

I usually go to Vancouver lake park to either bird watch or kayak. Both are great activities to do here. But I also see lots of people having picnics, hanging out on the beach and riding bikes. There is a bike path that links this park to other areas. Since there are lots of trees and grassy lawn, this is a great place for a family get together. People can enjoy sun, sand, shade and water.

Super space, had both the Heron shelters. There were 2 large BBQ grills (charcoal), 2 sinks, huge counters, picnic tables, and lots of electric plugs. All covered! Well the BBQ grills weren't covered (* Lots of open grass area around the shelters to play games. Everyone really enjoyed the space.

My sister and I came by for a look see and then returned a few days later with our spouses for a picnic under the big shade trees. There is lots of grass for the kids to run and play and a sandy beach by the lake. I hope to bring the grandkids later this summer.

I had a dog but could not take it to the developed area. Fortunately, I found shaded parking. The lake is perfect for the regatta

I often bike the highway that leads out of downtown Vancouver to this park. This is a good place to kayak or just lay in the sun in a beach environment. There are bbq pits and picnic benches. There is grass up to the lake front so it is a good place to lay out a blanket and relax. Most of the people I see out here are biking or kayaking. There is a fee for this location unless you bike in.

We took our Chinese exchange students for their first rides in canoe's. The park is huge and there is plenty of room to run. The facilities are 1st class and plenty of barbecues are spread around the park.

Perfect place to take kids learning to ride a bike - long, paved, flat bike path away from cars. The bike path connects Vancouver Lake Park and Frenchman's Bay Park. Vancouver Lake is a great place to walk, picnic, fly kites, clean playgrounds and bathrooms.

Big calm lake perfect for beginning kayaking and canoeing. Large sandy beach perfect for kids, lots of shade and grass too. Perfect for family picnics, or "just a day a the beach". Water gets warmer quicker then nearby rivers. And there is lots of parking.

Great place for a romantic stroll , Hiking, biking, swimming, picknicking. It has it all for a wonderful day. I recently attended a wedding reception there and it was a beautiful day.

This lovely little park is a perfect place to sit alone and relax by the water. There is a large sand beach where kids were playing and then the green park to sit in the sun on the grass or under the large trees when share is required. Perfect for a picnic, family gathering or alone time. I watched the Dragon boat crew paddle the length of the lake. With Mt St Helens and Adams in the back ground...it's a perfect setting not that far out of town.

This park is large, has lots grass and of shady areas, gorgeous in the fall when leaves change color. The large lake is good for canoes and kayakers, often not swimmable in summer due to unsafe water readings. Easy walking, lots of parking.

As someone who lives in Vancouver, Vancouver Lake is not any place I'd ever recommend to people. It's just gross and often closed in the hot weather from too much e-coli contamination. There is a park there, but there are also much nicer parks (and the lake doesn't allow dogs). Skip it - if you want to hang in a nice park go down to the boardwalk along the Columbia River and walk around. It's very relaxing. If you want to swim, go to one of the many rivers or a pool at the Marshall Center. Yuck for Vancouver Lake. Oh, and they actually charge you to get in to this place in the summer time.
