We stopped for this trail while in La Push and were not disappointed in the least. We passed a lot of people on the the trail both ways so this is a popular spot. The trail going down can get quite steep in some places so its not for the faint of heart because what goes down must come back up. When you get to the bottom, it all becomes worth it as the scenery unfolds before you. Its hard to describe how simply beautiful it is unless you visit for yourself. I was a little saddened to see some of the trash along the trail but considering how many people we encountered, I guess you are bound to have those who do not respect nature. A must see place

(Initial 2nd Beach visit was Aug. of '09). The trail itself is downright primordial, an engrossing endeavor, and then you step out of the woods straight into the world's largest natural jungle-gym experience. It's a horizontal forest of gigantic driftwood logs you can clamber over on your way to the water, a wonderfully fun activity if you're up for it. The ocean and island views from the beach are breathtaking. The water is also breathtaking, in that it's COLD, so cold. I love everything about Second Beach and my visit there remains one of my favorite memories in life.

This was a great hike back to second beach. The trees are unique with the way they have grown, its well maintained and once you get to second beach its totally worth the long trek. It is a gorgeous scene but please be careful. There are tons of large pieces of drift wood you have to climb over to get to the actual beach.

I was able to surprise my partner with this hike through the woods which ended on a secluded beach opening onto the pacific ocean. The view is worth it but it requires some climbing over wet logs and lots of stair climbing so make sure you are in a little bit of shape.

Best beach ever! Washington's Pacific coast is the best. Short drive from Rialto and La Push. Forks has some neat spots to see also

Wonderful hike (and relatively short) through the rainforest that ends at the most amazing beach! A nice mix of the stunning scenery that can be found in the Olympic National.

Its a bit of trek but well worth the hike, once you get down to the beach the world opens up. Breath taking sunsets with the huge rock formations.

I can't imagine a more beautiful place. The parking lot was full and when I got to the beach it was empty... I had it all to myself. If you are coming through the area you need to put this at the top of your list!!!

Beautiful hike through woods to reach this beach and then WOW - what views!! Worth the harder hike back Uphill to car.

The trail in and out is steep at the end but doable. The reward when you get there is a beautiful beach with sea stacks and great marine life in the tide pools. You are able to walk out pretty far in low tide and really explore the sea stacks. We saw anemone, starfish, mussels, barnacles. A great place for sun rise or sunset, even in the fog. Perfect for photographers.

Second beach was my favorite out of Ruby/Rialto/First. Starfish galore and unique sea stacks. I planned it to arrive around low tide for best time to view tide pools. The trail was a nice walk with a steep decline at the end. We went early and were the only ones on the beach except for a few campers.

It was kind of foggy when we went and it was like a pirates cove. There is a hike to get there. Probably hard if you have balance problems. We liked it though. We saw the hole in the wall and explored for a couple of hours.

This is a great beach. Parking for this beach was challenging. The hike in and out is difficult. People with small children and older people should probably avoid this hike. The sea stacks were amazing. If you are a photographer this is a great destination.

Very steep trail down to beach so very steep path up when returning. Good path, spectacular rock formations, about 3/4 miles each way
