We were surprised that this was here and we didn't realize it. Nice display on Lincoln, complete with artifacts, original artwork and tons of research material.

The presentation and exhibits are great. The museum is small, but very tasteful and professional. It's located next to the library.

who knew all these amazing artifacts were hidden inside this small but amazing museum.. Get a new appreciation on Lincoln and others who lived and fought during this time. Well worth taking the time to visit.

I just moved to Redlands so I figured that I would go sightseeing and I found this pretty neat museum that shows a lot of Pres. Lincoln artifacts and things from the Civil War. So many handwritten letters from the 1900s. They had a really neat video that shows the Civil War in four minutes and it counts the number of casualties and it is so interesting. Why not go learn a little bit more about the history of this nation if you're in the area.

If you like American History, and Abraham Lincoln in particular, don't miss this gem of a shrine in Redlands, CA! Just half a mile off of Interstate 10, you will find an original Norman Rockwell painting and actual letters from soldiers and Generals in the Civil War. The displays will keep you spell bound as you read the placards.

Really, all I need to say is "WOW". I have known about the Lincoln Memorial Shrine for years and I used to live nearby, but never visited. For some reason, I just pictured a statue of Lincoln or something. I had no idea it was such an amazing and comprehensive museum! When you enter the shrine you are in a small rotunda and they have docents there that can answer questions, show you around and point out things not to miss. The rotunda has amazing acoustics due to it's shape and you can stand in the middle and your voice sounds like it's coming from an amplifier or you can stand on one side and whisper and someone on the other side can hear! It's phenomenal! There are two wings on each side of the rotunda and I don't mean to make it sound like this place is big, but there is a lot packed in. Currently, on one side they have a focus on 1864 and the other side is focused on 1863 and next year they will update the 1863 to 1865, that way the exhibits are rotated regularly and you can see new things! Of course the 1864 room had a lot of focus on the election of that year, but the exhibits, while mostly about Lincoln also display what else was happening then, of course the civil war at that time.In the 1863 exhibit, there were a lot of displays about Civil War battles and of course displays about the Gettysburg address. They also have a really amazing Norman Rockwell painting which I am to understand was donated by Rockwell himself. It's called The Long Shadow of Lincoln and it's very large and moving. It's considered to be extremely valuable and worth seeing, especially for Rockwell fans. This is a museum well worth visiting. I was surprised and delighted to find a museum dedicated to Lincoln and the 1800s right here in Redlands. It's something you expect to find on the east coast, but not in California. If you have the chance, you should visit. Set aside enough time to truly appreciate everything there. There are no reproductions. The signed documents are real, the books are from the 1800s, there are models modernly created, but overall, these are genuine items that Lincoln (and others of the era) signed, touched, etc.I am looking forward to taking others to see the Lincoln Memorial Shrine.

/you don't have to be a Republican to appreciate Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln Shrine in Redlands, CA offers a look into our 16th President of the United States. On his way to leading our country, he lost a number of elections before moving Washington. History is revisited at the Lincoln Shrine but you don't have to be a history buff to enjoy it. The Lincoln Memorial Shrine is a museum and research facility located at: 125 West Vine Street Redlands, CA 92373. Call (909) 798-7632 for hours or research needs.

What a nice surprise, particularly for my husband who is a Civil War enthusiast. The domed Lincoln Memorial Shrine, in the middle of Redlands, had an exhibit of specific years/battles during the Linclon presidency. The docent provided a brief overview of this timeframe and was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and open to questions. Check out the paintings and quilt and the stories about them. If you like the Civil war and Lincoln, this shrine in Redlands Calif, is worth the visit.

For anyone with an interest in American history and President Lincoln in particular, this little gem on a side street in Redlands in well worth a visit. It was built by a couple as a tribute to their son and centers on the years 1863 and 1864 of Lincoln's presidency. There's a collection of books about Lincoln and also of Lincoln's along with a beautiful original Normal Rockwell painting along with memorabilia of the era. It is housed in a lovely stone building etched with lines some of his famous speeches.

This really is a fascinating destination in Redlands. It is the largest collection of Lincoln manuscripts and exhibits west of the Mississippi River. If you're a Civil War buff, definitely make a trip here.

Who would think there'd be a shrine/museum that honors Lincoln in the middle of downtown Redlands. Certainly worth a visit if you are in town.

This is an experience everyone should afford themselves. There is a lot of history here and words cannot give you the feeling you would have if you went and saw this for yourself. It is a very beautiful, touching experience and it is so much more involved that you would expect.
