The park runs along the river from near Carter Lake (IA) to below the Conagra Plaza. Blue Cross/Blue Shield has "rent-a-bike" stands along the way. The National Parks office has a nice display that is informative for adults yet entertaining for children.

If you have a couple hours to space, take a walk or job through the riverfront park and check out the landing. Not really much to see except a statue and stark view across the river...but it is peaceful.

Worth stopping into the Visitor Center then crossing I've the bridge into Iowa. The Visitor Center has some neat history, a gift shop and the whole Lewis & Clark journey mapped out. Amazing.

If you luck enough to be there when concerts are going on it's a fun place to have a beer and listen to music.

The museum at the Lewis & Clark and Riverfront Park in downtown Omaha is a great treat for historians, young and old. There is enough interesting displays to engage the very young and sage historians. It has the added benefit of being small enough that you will not wear yourself out and can usually spend a few minutes to a hour or more, depending on you level of interest. This is a great place to take kids and visitors to Omaha. It is also very close to other attractions, like the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge, Heartland of America Park, the Old Market and TD Ameritrade Park, the new City Auditorium and the Holland Performing Arts Center.

Stopped down at the river front and had a very nice time walking around and enjoying the scenery. Very good place for a date night, whether its a first date or the 100th date. Good for couples, as well as families.

This attraction is located inside the National Park Service headquarters building on the banks of the Missouri River. There is a short film regarding the Lewis and Clark expedition from St. Louis to the Pacific Ocean. Outside the building there is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the river. Half way across the bridge is a line painted letting you know that you have crossed into Iowa from Nebraska. Or you can stand in both states at once.

Granted it's a big slab of concrete but it ok except in the heat of summer there are benches and the handy restaurant but it fun to just watch the river go by.

The National Park Service provides an educational center devoted to Lewis and Clark. Small display, but very informative with a great wall map. Be sure to watch the Ken Burns documentary.

The small interpretative center is basically in the foyer regional National Park building. There were a few items of interest, a LOT of pamphlets, a National Park gift shop and a film. The ranger on duty was cheerful and helpful. The 25 min. film was honestly the only reason to go in. Unless you want a gift or to get you passport stamped. The building is located in a beautifully rehabilitated spot on the river. There are many options for short or long walks from this point including a 15 walk over a bridge into Iowa. There was also a kiosk to rent bikes. We plan to go back and do that. There was also a nice place to sit and let children, or young at heart play in sidewalk fountains. Not much about Lewis & Clark aside from the excellent film, but a nice place to get out of the car and move around!

We did not go inside because it was closed. The statues by the river were interesting and this is obviously historically interesting.

An easy walk from the Old Market, the Lewis & Clark Center at Riverfront Park commemorates the landing of Lewis & Clark in Omaha during their expedition. The center has an excellent 25-minute film highlighting their Western route from St. Louis, including the many hardships they faced along the way. The center also contains educational resources, including National Park rangers, who can answer questions you might have about the Lewis and Clark trail.

This small visitor center, located in the National Park Service Midwest Regional Office is a wonderful introduction to the history of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. The center has a movie and exhibits. The location is on the bluffs of the Missouri River, overlooking the banks of Iowa. It is definitely worth the stop and a short walk across the river for amazing views of what was once viewed by Lewis and Clark and their team of explorers.

There are many activities that go on at the Lewis and Clark landing on the river. It is a neat place to hold your gatherings and fun for the kids.
