wee thump joshua tree wilderness

We stumbled upon this while checking out the ghost town of Searchlight. This drive is absolutely beautiful, especially if you like joshua trees. These were the biggest and most vast looking trees of this variety I have ever seen!

This area is pretty easy to get to, but not marked, that I saw. "Birdandhike.com" has a good description of the area, which is how I learned of it. Even the locals had no idea what I was referring to when I asked about "Wee Thump Wilderness". Just know that your turn off is 164 in the town of Searchlight. 8.2 miles down 164 aka "Joshua Tree Hwy" on the right. Enjoy some relaxing walking/hiking around the Joshua Tree Wilderness area. You're likely to see no one else out there. Lot's of birds and desert wildlife are to bee seen if you're patient enough though.
