hollywood beach golf resort

The weekend of November 14th-16th my husband and I were guests of this hotel. Before we made our reservations we were told that this hotel was completely handicap accessible. On their website they say it is wheelchair accessible. It is not. One can get into the front door using a wheelchair or a scoot which is what my husband uses. However, the room was not only not in ADA compliance it was not even wheelchair accessible. The bathroom doors were to narrow for his scooter to go through and even if he could have gotten through he could not turn around or get back out. There were no grab bars anywhere near the toilet or in the bathtub. The toilet was to low to the ground. This hotel is totally out of ADA compliance. My husband can not longer walk any distance or without aid. In order for him to use the bathroom he had to park his scooter outside of the bathroom hold onto the ledge of the sink and the door facing and gingerly walk to the toilet. There were not bars for him to hold onto at the toilet except for the one that held the towels. It was not a steady shelf. The fear that he was going to fall was always in his mind. He dared not use the bathroom unless I was in the room with him. Even though this hotel states it is accessible it is not. The staff however, were very professional and personable. The Restaurant however, is very accessible. We will not stay at this hotel again because it is a hazard.

Again, we were looking for deals. This was a good clean place to stay and convenient to beach locations we like to visit. It was the off season, so no one in the office after 5pm or before 9am. My complaint was that either the grounds crew at the golf course or the restaurant was taking all the ice from the machine. No ice for the folks paying to stay. Bugged me enough that we'd probably not stay there anymore even though the room was a good price and clean.

I've played this course several times. It is a good local course with a few challenging holes. The course is well kept and is located in the down town area of Hollywood. During the winter season it gets busy like all the courses in the South Florida area.

I have not been there for a while, but have very nice memories of it, specially the beach location with lots of activities. I used to take my girls there and enjoy a nice lunch at the hotel.

Worth your time ,has some water.Book ahead if you can.Ask the old guys about the history of the club and maybe you'll hear a Jackie Gleason story

Great practice facilities, great rates, and a friendly staff. You can play right up until sunset so go over after your conference like I did or if you live nearby head over after work.

The food & lounge are great. I have had Brkfst, lunch & Dinner here and the chef makes very creative dishes. A great Happy Hour. Great view out on the deck as long as the humidity is down. I've attended several different functions here also. The catering department is impeccable. Stacey's Staff is 5Star

The course is just in the heart of Hollywood, so good location. Club oldish, proshop has not much to offer. Service easy and friendly, starter is a great fellow. Eventually fun to play urban course. Many still like to visit a real Country Club close to the nature. Fairways in better shape than in many other clubs, still not more than average, greens generally ok but not great. Championship Course is fairly nice and playable, though not espesially interesting. Good value for money when manage to book on good offers. Pace of play close to 5 hours, but could be caused by slow play before us. Visit to this club recommened in case above sounds reasonable. We stay in the area for three weeks and will definitively play the course again.

The greens for the most part were in better shape than a lot of the courses around Ft. Lauderdale, but fairways need some work. Pace of play was easily under 4 hours fo 18 holes - although it seemed much slower. Staff were great - very nice. We recommend this course.

Location is superb with a view on the golf course and a pond with wildlife. We rented the area between the dining room and the kitchen for a private function and we were not disapointed. Staff is very accommodating and the food is fine. I recommend this place if you need a special place for a special occasion.

Great value for money! Loved the course. An easy one for intermediate players. September was still too humid to enjoy this lovely course!

This is a well maintained course. All holes are straight. Very good value. I will come back for more fun.
