I am actually not a big art person (or fan), but this church was worth the time and visit. A lot of history, and information contained in the church. The paintings on the ceiling by Goya are really amazing. It is a bit off the beaten path in Madrid, but that also makes it worth it (it is a block from the "river" in Madrid, which is also fun to look at). There are bigger, better places to see art in Madrid, and other churches as well, but I really enjoyed looking not only at this church, but the identical one built right next door (yes, the built a replica) that is used for church so tourists can see the other!

It's a really small church with 6 months worth of Goya's work on the ceilings. His tomb is also there. Fabulous paintings with which to get your art 'fix'. Free entry, but no photos please.

Our host advised us to visit this little known chapel and we did not regret it. In fact we think a visit to this place should be on everyone's must do list in Madrid. This is where Goya's tomb lies and also his painting on the ceiling is pure magic. Entry is free. The chapel is not well signposted. So you will get lost. If using the metro, get off at Principe Pio station and onto Paseo de la Florida and walk down this street till you find the chapel. It is not an attractive street with buildings on either side. We got lost and when we asked some runners, they said there is nothing touristy to do on that side of the street. Well, they were wrong. There is also Casa Mingo which is a lovely bar next door. Well worth a visit there too, but it opens only after 11 a.m

Perhaps because i am not an "art" guy, so I really did not feel anything interesting on this church. It is located quite remote and far.It is not allowed to take picture inside. The closest metro will be Intercambiador de Principe Pio.

My close friend who is a professor of art history and an expert on Spanish painters (and who works and lives in Madrid) thinks this is a gem, the most exquisite work of Goya who is entombed inside. I am a barbarian, apparently. I liked it but did not love it and probably one visit was enough for me, although obviously it was lovely. Just didn't move me and I am sorry for that, I think I was missing something about it.

This place is beautiful and very secluded. It has some of GOYA's works. Be sure that the place is open since times are rather awkward. If your time in Madrid is short, I would consider other sites

you go there if you like goya. the attraction is one of the most famous frescos in spain painted by goya. take a mirror to discover all details so you do not have to look up the whole time

Not a well known place in Madrid, but I highly recommend it. Beautiful Goya paintings and free entrance.

This is another spot inMadrid I always tend to visit around the lovely greenery of the paseo de la florida next to the river. There are 2 small churches one which has an original frescoe of one of spains most famous artist francisco de goya and the other church seems to be a more recent replica. Its another nice quite area when youneeda little respite from the incredible and unique hustle and bustle that is Madrid.

Not a must, but for Goya's fans. This little church is out of the way, but it contains some interesting frescoes by Goya. Metro stop Principe Pio, the some walking. Free, peaceful, no photos.

This is a free attraction that is out of the way. Goya did all the paintings inside. If you want to see something off the beaten path, this is it.

Great idea to include floor standing mirrors so you do not have to get a stiff neck looking at this masterpiece of Goya's!

I never miss visiting this tiny gem when I am in Madrid. It is probably my favourite piece of art in the world. I cannot explain it's power over me rationally but it moves me every time. It also allows me to pay my respects to the maestro Goya, who is buried here.

We'll worth the long walk or cab ride. It's a short stay - not a tremendous amount to see, but after hitting all the big museums and tourist draws, it provided great perspective on Goya and his impact on local community. The locals are so proud to have the museum and tomb in their community. Very humble perspective, but great to see it.

This is a real little treasure. The Goya frescos were amazing. Well worth a visit and it is free. After the visit, if you are energetic, you can walk up the back and over the rail line and visit the egyptian monument.
