Good views and interesting visit, but it cost 3 euros and the church was closed, quite unnecessarily.

I climbed the Martinitoeren and it was kind of an adventure, due to the little steps and the big amount of them. I was a little out of breathe but it is part of the experience. Seeing the beautiful city from above is priceless.

Climbing up to the Martinitower in Groningen was fun activity during a lovely Sunday afternoon. The weather was sunny and clear so you could see very far. The view is absolutely beautiful and you can get a better idea about the city.

When you hear Groningen, it is always associated with Martini Tower or Martinitoren. It is the most important landmark of the city. I recommend climbing to the top of the tower if the weather is good. It is very tiring because of the many stairs but it is worth doing so. The view up there is amazing! You will see a 360 degrees view of Groningen. On the way up, don' t forget to ring the bell. It is fun!

Fun activity when visiting Groningen. Does not take too much time but provides you with a beautiful view of the city of Groningen

The Martini Tower is one of the most prominent structures in the city center of Groningen. Architecturally, it is a beautiful sight to behold. It is possible to go all the way up to the top, for a fee.

Awesome time looking at the view from the tower and ringing the church bell!:) A lot of steps to climb.

It is a good way to get a nice view of Groningen at a not foggy day, otherwise it is not worth it! Also a lot of stairs (duh) and too narrow and steep so you have to be careful and fit!!

For a small fee (€3) you can climb the tower. If you're lucky and you have a clear view, you can see the wide surroundings of Groningen! You need to be of good health to climb the stairs, you have the opportunity to see the tower both from the inside as well as a tour on the outer circle. Great for kids as they can cling the tower bells (electronically). A must-do before you go shopping!

For only € 5 you can climb up this almost 100m high tower, which is an important landmark in the city. Inside you can see the big church bells from up close and you can even swing on one of the ropes. From upstairs you have a great 360 degree view over the city. Entrance fee is around € 5 and tickets can be bought at the VVV-office on the square in front of the tower (Grote Markt). To prevent too many people on the narrow stairs there is a maximum of people that can get in together (I think it is 40). Once your in, you'll understand why. You don't normally have to wait very long.

Offers a nice piece of history and a great view over Groningen. Stairs are pretty narrow and maybe difficult to climb.

It took us some time to figure out the tickets need to be bought at the tourist office across the street. After figuring this out we climbed the stairs and could admire Groningen from a different viewpoint. Since it is a law in Groningen that nothing can be higher than this tower the view is not obstructed by skyscrapers. This really adds to the experience. When in Groningen it's definitely something you should do in order to admire the old town and the more modern parts of the city at the same time.

This is a nice place to visit when it's sunny and clear. You have a great view of the city. The stairs are very tight, so it's difficult to go up or down when there's people coming the other way. You have to pay 3 eur to go up, and you buy the coin in the touristic center at Grote Markt right across the street.

To go inside you'll have to buy the coin for 3 euros from the vvv building accross the Martini tower (at the grote markt). The stairs are quite the challenge and also kinda narrow. When you finally arrive at the top you can see a very nice 360 view of Groningen. From this point you can still go up where you'll find the bell and the clock of the tower. It was a nice experience for me. If you have time, I recommend you to go but only when the weather is nice.

When you put your coin in (you pay 3 euros for it at the tourist info center across the street), move through the.silver bars right away or they'll lock again! The view is great, but the close bars all around make it hard to take a picture if you're vertically challenged. Steps are a good workout, and they have some bells to play with the different sounds.
