The Ailsa Course sits next to the Irish Sea and offers beautiful views on almost every hole. The 9th hole, in particular, has an island tee that is surrounded by sea water and a good hit is required to clear both the water and a large hill for any chance of reaching the green in two. I would only place Royal Dornoch Golf Club in the Highlands as a co-claimant of "Best Courses in the World".

Wonderful courses which will be even better once Trump as renovated . Great scenery and wonderful staff. the 19th hole is being renovated at present even though is was the number one in Scotland

You would be hard pressed to find a more scenic golf course, one of the finest and worthy of its ranking in the top 20 in the world. The course layout and conditioning, lighthouse, Bruce's castle and views of Ailsa Craig with the iconic holes along the coast makes this a truly meorable experience. We secured a twilight tee off and were blessed with great weather. The locker rooms, pro shop and restaurant were fantastic. The hotel perched on a hill overlooking the course looks very inviting and I would love to return to stay there some day and play both courses.

Played the Kintyre and Ailsa on alternate days. The former seemed in better condition and left untouched whilst the latter was already under winter maintenance. Green side bunkers GUR being rebuilt. Didn't detract from the beauty of the courses, and the fantastic coastal setting. Saturday was last open day for Clubhouse, now under refurbishment. Well worth a visit. 83 and erm 94 by the way.

I loved this layout. It is a great venue. An added bonus was Peter the caddie and his great stories. He was the perfect caddie for me and he also helped my son get around the course. It has beautiful views. The course condition was not that great but it didn't take a thing away from this course. I would love to play it again.

The golf course is absolutely fantastic although the weather was not good on this occasion. The clubhouse service was excellent with stunning views. The ladies stayed in the lodges which were luxurious and lacked nothing. We had dinner above the spa and although the service was excellent for fifty five pounds I felt the menu lacked imagination and was rather over priced.

Playing the Alisa course just felt like I was walking on something specially unique in the golf world.Had a late tee-time due to the heavy traffic in Scotland for the Ryder Cup and didn't actually finish the round but still enjoyed it for the views and challenge of a true links course. From the moment you walk into the club you know you are in something special with all the woodwork and display's from many years of golf.

it is fab but have plenty of cash for at turnberry everything is very expensive it has a millionaire's lifestyle but it doesn't stop you going and having a look for the turnberry hotel is very impressive on it own

Ailsa Course is a gem. On a clear day the views of the rock and sea are spectacular.Wonderful Classic Links course among my favorites. Knowledgable caddies and good practice facilities and pro shop. Great Hotel with outstanding view.

True testing track not for the faint hearted. Lots of ups n downs with challenging shots into tricks greens. Great views of the hotel from the 9th Tee Box and breath taking views of the light house from the 10th Tee Box. Must play for a keen golfer who enjoys links golf. The club house is cozy and has good dining and bar options too.

Two couples from the US traveling to Scotland for a golf vacation and the Ailsa course at Turnberry was on our list. We waited until about two weeks before our trip to book our tee time and found a 4 ball and dinner special on the website if you were able to play after 2PM which was not a problem for us. This saved us a LOT of money. Our weather the day we played could not have been more perfect...sunny, warm and little to no wind. Does not get much better than that. I can see that this course would be difficult in adverse conditions. Besides a great golf course, in great shape, there are beautiful views from every hole. Toward the end of our round, we could hear the bagpiper up at the hotel and could see him most of the way up the 18th hole. Gave me chills and a memory I will never forget.Dinner was in the restaurant above the golf shop and had nice views of what I assume is the Kintyre course. It was three courses from a short menu but had a nice variety of items to choose from. This was a great value for us on a truly memorable golf course.

Great Golf course well known for the British open. The hotel is a great hotel as you would expect with great views of the sea

We've been to Turnberry a number of times. Stunning championship course recently purchased by none other than "the Donald" himself. Stay tuned for some exciting renovations...provided they are okayed by the R&A.

If you are a golfer and visit Scotland, playing Turnberry's Alisa course is a must. On our golfing week we played two link courses, this one ad Western Gailes. On the Alisa course you experience the atmosphere of the British Open...
