This is a very pretty Christmas market, right on the lake. The food choices are great. We enjoyed some classic cheese fondue inside a little hut right on the lake. Delicious, but probably not good for the arteries! It does get very busy as the night goes on though, but at around dusk it was lovely. Combine with a walk along the lakeside for a very pleasant experience.

A very nice Christmas market. The food and drink are the best part so go hungry! Vin chaud, churros and roasted chestnuts highly recommended. I've heard the tartiflette is delicious as well. Nice wooden houses with fires burning inside to warm you up if it's chilly. And the possibility of free samples in a few places! Very good spot to pick up some 'Swiss' gifts to take back home.

My Wife and I have visited the Montreux Christmas Market every year now since 2008 and it's a special attraction no matter what.Lot's of eating and drinking and plenty of stalls selling almost everything. We adore it.

We enjoyed to walk along the lake to see this market for the first time. Many places to eat, several places to sit in very charming little bench. We appreciated most of what we saw. Missing a bit more of the christmas atmosphere sometimes but there is a lot to see in a small place. People were nice. The only very dissappointing thing was that they close the little shops at 20h00 during the week and we did not know that... Pretty sad. Except that boring point, you should go there!

Great place to visit for an evening. There are a lot of stands and the atmosphere is great. Don't forget to take a ride in the big wheel and there are many stands to have some food after.

A very large Christmas market with stalls selling food, drink, crafts Christmas decorations. A lovely family atmosphere during the day and a great place for a night out with friends in the evening.Prices can be a bit steep this is not a market to come a get a cheap gift but you will find lots of original gifts and crafts.

Me and my boyfriend visited Montreux Noel market for several times. We always had amazing time. The atmosphare is full of Xmas, hot wine, punch, tea with some alcohol. I would say Montreux is not lovely only during Xmas time but also during summer. If you have time on the end of June/beg of July go and visit famous Montreux Jazz festival. I am sure you will love it! :)

We caught a train from Geneva to Montreux and went to the Christmas market. It was great for having a relaxed look around and there plenty of gifts to look at. We enjoyed the hot wine and crepes! A short walk from the station, it is easy to find. The mountains make a beautiful backdrop. A very relaxing day out. Make sure you go on the big wheel for some excellent views of lake Geneva and the market. Well worth a visit.

Amazing experience although we're not new to Xmas markets around Europe which are always nice, romantic and meaningful . This one is much more than that and if you want really find out just go there and live the magic atmosphere, breath the sparkling air of Leman Lake under the snow, talk with people coming from every remote corner of the world, taste typical local food such as Tartiflette or Rosti drinking hot flavoured wine. Just one recommendation : do not waste your money and time by taking the train to go for visiting Saint Nicolaus village and house because it's costly and meaningless ! Even kids were disappointed and sad

The market is greatly organized. Everything is so festive! There are vendors selling Christmas accessories & toys as well as the ones serving traditional food & drinks! The atmosphere is so joyful!

We were enticed by the Christmas Markets to visit Montreux for a weekend. In fact we could have seen the markets in one day but we still enjoyed it. We staying in the Grand Hotel Swiss Majestic which was perfectly situated so we could pop in and out. The market stall are along the lake front and it's a beautiful setting. With two children, it was definitely more pleasant in the daytime before the crowds arrived. The stalls were beautifully decorated and sold many beautiful items - glass, ceramics, woollens, soaps etc. There's a ferris wheel that gives a panoramic view of the lake and mountains. There was a great atmosphere at night but also the crowds and drinking made is more difficult to navigate with small children. We enjoyed the hot cider and crepes.

Xmas market in Montreaux is really well organised and with a lot of interesting things from all around the world ( food, handmades, etc.).The location on the lake make the difference!Specially during week end the reccomandation is to go by train since Montreaux is not so big to welcome all the Bus and cars arriving from everywhere in Europe.

The Montreux's Christmas Market Lake Geneva with Swiss & French Alps setting makes for a wonderful experience. It's easy to find and do. I arrived by train and just walked across the street down the steps towards the lake and voila there was the entrance arch. I found the individual market stands very authentic, high-quality offerings with lots of local foods such as sausages, risotto and wines. The Christmas village for children in Caux was also well worth the 20 minute train ride. The panorama view of the French Alps across Lake Geneva and the Lavaux to the West was well worth the visit. From the Christmas market area it's also easy to get to Chillion via the # 21 bus or walk along the promenade.

One of the best Christmas Markets in Switzerland is found in Montreux. This beautiful city offers visitors a wonderful atmosphere for the festive season. You will be able to find all sorts of handcrafts in small wooden chalets right next to the lake. If you would like to have a coffee, I would recommend visiting the restaurant inside the Forum shopping center with a view over the lake.

If you're in Montreux at Christmastime, it's impossible to miss the Marché de Noel because the main road and the waterfront are lined with wooden chalets, each containing something to tempt you. Whether it's jewelry, chocolates or souvenirs it's hard to resist spending your money. Add to that the smells that waft from the many stalls selling food and drink (including the delicious "vin chaud") and you will soon be drawn into a winter wonderland. The market is at it's best after dark, but it can get quite cold so I suggest getting there just before sunset. If you get really cold then head for the covered market (beside the statue of Freddie Mercury), where the stalls are more sheltered and the ambiance and the temperature are warmer. While you're there look out for the stall selling découpage - a traditional Swiss handicraft made by cutting out black paper and mounting it on white. It has to be seen to be believed!
