Big area, historical, inside and outside venue. Best in spring-summer period, developing all the time and close cooperation with the University. Nice place for pick.nick, nice outside days, concerts, exhibitions.

It's a pretty garden, well maintained and full of history. It's also nicely designed with part of the gardens being ornamental and another part that seems more focused on the science of botany. It would be nice if there were some more information boards about the guy who started these gardens as from what I could gather this man is fairly famous in Sweden. I would have liked to have undertood more on its history.

The Botaniska Tradgarden and its satellite Linnéträdgården are just amazing, oases of freshness, green, close to the Fyris river and the castle. An over three centuries old garden, showing a large diversity of plants and trees. Worth a visit, just to walk around and relax

The freshness of the gardens near the river is lovely, gorgeous trees throughout and seeing so many people enjoying the outdoors and making the most of the summer of also lovely. Just a nice atmosphere....positive.

This garden is a really beautiful example of a Nordic garden with local plants. Absolutely worth the visit.

As a towner and biologist I would very much like to feel that I could recommend everybody to visit the Uppsala botanical garden. It is the home town of Linné, after all. But I think that there are simply too many things that lack in this garden, to make it the hot-spot it deserves to be. To be frank: it is a little bit boring. The plantations on the "collections" side (outside the tropical greenhouse) seem disconnected to one-another and the tropical greenhouse is so ugly that it disturbes the whole experience. Which is a shame: there is plenty of interesting plants to see. For those who are interested enough to visit the botanic garden anyways I strongly recommend that you visit the arboretum, Barock garden and orangery on the opposite side of Norbyvägen, which are more in the style that I like. I hope the botanical of Uppsala will get more resources in future so they can present their collections in a more inspiring way.

It was sunny and we had some time to stretch our legs. We both love flowers so the botanical garden seemed like a good idea. The flower beds have signs in Latin and Swedish. The variety of plants is not overwhelming but the pyramid-shaped firs are funny. Parts of the garden looked a bit untended (dried-up plants).

Tranquil, beautiful and full of surprises the botanical garden is a must. The hot house with its humid warmth envelopes your soul. Very soothing!

Pleasant enough formal gardens, a little bit stiff and sterile, but okay for a brief wander. The Stadstradgarden is actually a much nicer place if you want to relax in a parkland environment. Linneaus' house and gardens are much more informative if you wish to know a bit more about Swedish botany.

The front part of the garden is formal and is over 300 years old. In the back there are more informal plantings and across the road they have a wonderful kitchen garden associated with a great restaurant offering fresh vegetable dishes. The tables under the fruit trees add a nice touch.

I went here at least once a week in spring-fall when I lived in Uppsala. The place is fairly large (for such a small town), so there's plenty to discover if you like plants - both indoors and out. The scenery is lovely, with the Palace nearby. The plants indoors range from desert to tropics. Outdoors, of course, they are more hardy. You can find lots of interesting things if you follow the paths and keep your eyes peeled - not everything is obvious. If you have no interest in plants, don't go. You can see the general layout from the Castle or just passing by on the street and you won't find it more exciting close up.

Kulturernas Karneval or Carnival of Cultures in Uppsala.Baroque garden is my impression spot.Nice place and beautiful garden to walk around. Near Uppsala Castle. This is the first garden in Uppsala town and belonging to Uppsala University.( You will see the sign at the entrance. )Recommended to visit in summer time.Enjoy my pictures!

Standing in the inner court of Uppsala Castle you will certainly look at the cathedral. (The location of the castle, as I understand, was chosen by the king's men to keep the church's men under observation and control.)But don't forget to look 90 degrees to the left and admire the botanical garden. It is small (though larger than it appears from castle hill) and beautiful at almost any time of the year, well- maintained, and surprisingly diverse. It is part of the three Linnaean Gardens of Uppsala and well worth a visit, at certain period of the years romantic, and always fresh.

If you love flowers you need to visit this place. Just walking around in the summer time is fantastic with all flowers and all the different trees.

It is nice, but we liked the other garden (the one next to Linne's house) more. Linne's garden is smaller but nicer than this one.
