A small old time similar to the old towns of many other Central & Nothern European Cities. A ray of attractive buildings and a few traditional restaurants give a unique feeling of Slovakia.Very pleasant to walk through and during the summer you can take a tour with a guide who can give you a bit of the history of the city.

Friendly people lovely food and drink and stunning old town. We ate at Jimmys and the staff were really nice. Lots of lovely bars and restaurant's though. Go to the top of the UFO tower for a stunning view and ride the tour bus, everything was good value and just to add - great wind at 1 or 1.5 eur a large glass.

There are plenty of shops, restaurants and interesting statues to entertain even the most easily-bored traveler. The ancient history of this city is fascinating. The architecture and quaintness is not easily ignored as you traverse the cobblestone streets. Duck into churches, wander around the winding streets and take advantage of the pedestrian only roads surrounding the city centre. Keep an eye out for the numerous unique statues throughout the city.

Lovely - especially at night, very atmospheric. I traveled during the week in early March, so it was pretty quiet

The old city is lovely to walk around. The architecture is superb. It's so relaxing strolling around, popping in and out of a few pubs, shops etcOutside of the old city, Bratislava is a little run down so we tended to stick to these streets as they had everything we needed anyway.

Note: Everything I am writing and wrote is my opinion, taste and experience only and could be different to others. We spend 2.5 days in Bratislava. Some say it to much but I don't think so. Why because half a day shopping. Many good stuff to buy with low prices and good quality. The old city very quite and beautiful. Nice buildings arround.Walking from the river east \ south to the castle. Great view from castle. Many restaurants ang coffee places on the area. Prices of coffee shops and restaurants fair and not high prices. Mostly very good service.I am sure to return to visit Bratislava.Recommended to visit Bratislava.

Spent three days in Bratislava old town. There are some lovely old buildings, churches, historic alleys and of course the castle over looking the river Danube. During the daytime there is a buzz of people, locals going about there business and tourists snapping photos, lots of nice bars and cafes and restaurants of all descriptions . However when the evening comes the place changes into a town full of seedy looking strip clubs and is full of the types that frequent such places. I stayed during the week and experienced this but on the weekend the town fills with drunken stag parties and all the behaviour that can only be expected of such groups. My advice to anybody that wants to visit Bratislava is to stay in Vienna and get the river taxi to Bratislava and just visit for the day.

We met the guide at 11am and there were 30 or more on the free walking tour. She spoke very good English and spent 2-30 hours taking us around pointing out all the interesting sights. She was very well up on the history of Bratislava. I would thoroughly recommend this walking tour of the old town. You will come across and get explanations for many significant buildings art work and sculptures. And remember it is free!!

The old Town is easily walkable in 15 mins north south and east west, but there are numerous side streets and allies to explore which can occupy far more time. There are restaurants aplenty and a handful of bars, of course the restaurants will all serve drinks as well. We enjoyed our trip but a couple of days is plenty in the winter although I would expect the summer months would provide a better experience.
