We went there before yesterday when they were preparing tower to Nordic World Cup. Stunning view! I've never seen such a great structure before, absolutely amazing. All those people working there, getting object ready, they were so small!! Highly recommended place :)

We took a train from station in Oslo. You have to walk very steep hill in the end. It is remarkable to see skijumping platform so nearand see hov steep the track and landing slope is. We took the lift up to the top of the tower and enjoyed great wiew from there down to Oslo. Well wourth a small walk and time

Take the metro to Holmenkollen st, walk up the hill following the signs and there you are! You pay 120NOK for the museum and to go to the very top of the tower. The view is stunning! And there is WI-FI all around :PThere is a ski simulator, close to the little restaurant (which has nice food/coffee and nice price). You pay 60NOK to sit inside a pod and watch a movie in a big screen like you are the skier, while the pod moves up and down to "simulate" the ski feeling. Not very funny or realistic, totally waste of money. And on top of that, people outside can see you inside in a screen trough a camera :S

Another highlight of our 3 days in Oslo. We're not hugely into skiing, but it's a nice little museum, and a fantastic chance to go to the top of the Ski Jump and see the view. We went on the TBane, which was a nice little trip in itself, weaving up the hill between interesting little houses and increasing patches of snow.

Museum is not very interesting but the view from the top of the ski jump is breathtaking. Lovely walks around the museum and a big troll for the kids

Get the T-Bane (Metro) out to Holmenkollen (30Kr for up to 1 hour travel). It's a short walk from the station up to the centre, and well worth it.I'm not particularly interested in winter sports - more my husband's thing - but I have to admit I really enjoyed it. The museum is good but the view from the top of the jump is spectacular. I can't imagine how anyone could go down that!

This place is excellent. Not only is it a ski museum, but also check out the ski jump. When you get to the top not only is it a great view of Oslo and around, but also what balls the guys and gals must have to jump off this! Get an Oslo Pass and check it out!

I visited the museum and went to the top of the ski jump. If there had been a queue for the lift to the top of the jump, I imagine we would have had to wait a lot longer (so plan for this on a busy day). The view from the top was beautiful and there was plenty of room to take pictures. The museum was fantastic. There was a kids play area where they can slide down into plastic white balls. While the kids are playing, the adults can watch a film about skiing. There was also a well-done film about the Northern Lights. The museum included numerous historical exhibits about skiing and the jump in Norwegian and English. I visited the cafe as well and had a lovely waffle and coffee.

We visited during the Biathlon World Cup - which by the way was a 5-star experience...!!!But especially the Ski Jump Tower is breathtaking - but make sure there actually are some people jumping when you are visiting. And hope for a clear blue sky - then the views are fantactic.

If you love winter sports and like the excitement of heights, this is the place to go, both during winter and summer. In the winter, the best time to go is when there is a competition going on. Standing next to the jump watching the skiers fly through the air is awesome. The view of the city is also great from up here. Experiencing the atmosphere, energy and joy from thousands of people present during competition is far better than watching it on TV.In the summer you can try the 'jump' yourself by hanging on to a cable sliding down the arena all the way from the top to the bottom. If this is too much you can always try the simulator. The souvenir shop has a good selection of different things that will reming you of the visit and Norway.

Not sure I would give this 5 stars if they were not practice jumping the day we went. It was breathtaking to see these people jump!!! They are going really fast, perfect form and the jump is huge - soulc have sat there all day - really!! Snack bar with hot chocolate and food.

I would imagine that in the other seasons, the ski jump just looks like a giant grass covered ramp with metal guards. In the winter, it's a nice place to visit. The view of the city is lovely (the ski jump is on the other side of the fjord and so, it's a different view) and when we visited, it was snowing and there were people doing practice/training jumps, which added to the ambience. Worth coming out and making a morning or afternoon of it -- especially if you can catch a sporting event too.
