The Art Nouveau buildings were outstanding, and, as others mentioned, the street isn't crowded with cars or people, so you can stop to enjoy each building.

If you're interested in Art / architecture then this is the area to go. I'm not an arty person, but in terms of architecture I can appreciate how difficult it must have been to create these buildings, this area is impressive.

A street to walk along in awe of every building. Each building is a work of art in its own right - truly stunning.

Old Riga by it self is well know as place where you can find beautiful building in a style of Art Nouveau, but especially Alberta iela is the one that everybody should see if visiting Riga.

of course, there is a lot more of Art Nouveau around Rigas historical centre, but Alberta street is a must see for its achitectural "jewels". Six of them (all on the same street) are designed by a famous architect Michail Eisenstein - the father of famous film director Sergey Eisenstein. Take Your camera with You and have a very slow walk along this short street. Pay attention to details. And again - details. The more You will look, the more You will find and be surprised, impressed. Enjoy!

I could not get enough of this amazing street - I kept walking up and down trying to take pictures of everything. No picture you might take would ever do justice to this place, seriously. Some of the buildings have been restored and others are still in the process, but it's really an amazing experience. The Art Nouveau museum is at the beginning of the street. There is a cool store across the street from it, as well as the Sienna Cafe, decorated in the same style.

I was born in Riga, so I passed by Alberta iela hundreds of times. This time we all were visiting Riga with my husband's parents, so we decided to organize the sightseeing tour for them. If you love history, architecture and don't mind walking - Alberta Street is definitely something I would recommend visiting. Also, if you have an opportunity and free time, book the tour. You'll learn much more than just by walking by and reading a travel guide.

Everyone visiting Riga should sea this street and the whole area. Very beautiful Jugendstil houses. The houses have been just renovated. Very recommandable for a short walk!

If you like looking at art and architecture , you can't miss this street. Practically every building has intricately carved fronts. There is an art nouveau walk around the nearby streets which also have art nouveau carvings , but this is the main street to see.

The steet consists of wonderfull nothern art-nouveau styled houses as a whole. Becides this street you can find a lot of great buildings of this style not far from this place. Some of them can compete with the best examples of Wien, Paris and St-Petersburg

Nice place to visit in winter and see how the snow covers part of the fachades of these slim Art Deco buildings. Most of them are embassies I believe.

This street is the must to visit for all the art nouveau bildings. I could not resist the temptation to take a picture of all these beautiful buildings architectured by Michael Eisenshtein.

Another must see in Riga. Not far from Old Town ,this street has some of the best Art Nouveau apartment buildings . Take a stroll along this street and enjoy!

We visited this street early in the morning as we're leaving that day and hadn't had a chance to see it yet. Even in the drizzly rain just as it was getting light the buildings were really interesting, some were better than others, there were some novelty Christmas decorations that weren't exactly in keeping with the overall architecture, and it is easy to forget the buildings are in use still. Worth a visit as long as it isn't really out of your way.
