这是比萨的中心广场,周围的建筑都很不错,都很有历史感。有点遗憾的是我们去的时候,部分建筑在重修,看不到整个广场。

Very nice and big Piazza just a few minutes away from the leaning tower of Pisa... Worth the visit...

Even without a walking tour, you can understand the historical importance of this square. It's a short walk from Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower.

The well-trodden path between the leaning tower and this beautiful square is currently defaced by ongoing roadworks, but it's still worth taking that walk and admiring the architecture on the way. The square itself is a beautiful space but be careful when walking with your nose in the air as cars do cross it, and not especially slowly.

Loved hearing the history of this area. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area. Doesn't take too long.

If you're at the leaning tower of Pisa, its worth walking to this square. The buildings are very interesting and the walk is nice - also gets you away from the hundreds of people all trying to take photos of them holding the tower up.

This is another proof Pisa is not only famous for its Leaning Tower. This square is so beautiful; it was definitely another attraction i absolutely wanted to see in Pisa. Standing near Cosimo's Statue and going round in 360 degrees to view all the beautiful buildings; there is such rich history through it all, some of which stand out more than the others. The main building is Palazzo della Carovana, decorated with such beautiful wall decor. It was the headquarters of the Order of the Knights of St. Stephen, now it is a cultural attraction and study for the presence of the headquarters of the school of Pisa.St. Stephen's Church, another beautiful facade in white Carrara marble.Palazzo dell' orologio, not to miss the nice frescoes at the inner vault arch.I recommend to search a bit on the buildings and their rich history to appreciate them more when you visit.

We discovered this while exploring Pisa on foot on our first day there. We didn't have our cameras which I was annoyed about but figured we would find it the next day. We did, however by the time we had gotten there it was dark so were unable to get the shots we wanted! Typical! The buildings were my favourite in Pisa. There was something very calming about sitting in that square. What was lovely was the next evening when we strolled through (Sunday) it was full of stalls for an antiques fair/brick a brac. It was very quaint in the xmas lights.

We were staying near the Arno River and after walking to visit the Piazza dei Miracoli (Leaning Tower, Duomo), we took a different route back and stumbled upon this pleasant Square with very few people around. There are several restaurants and bars in the area so we grabbed some nearby food and just hung out. There are several historical buildings in the square open to visit like the Scuola Normale, Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri and others. Take an afternoon to wander around Pisa on foot.

The restaurants and bars are near by, so after visiting the Leaning tower, you could walk through this square to get to the main streets where you could have a beer or ice cream and find a nice nice place to eat. This square has the oldest University in Italy which uses a beautiful building.

Piazza dei Cavalieri is beautiful because of the three buildings: Palazzo dei Cavalieri by Vasari with the beautiful black-and-white sgrafitto, Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri (a pity that it was closed for restauration) and Palazzo dell'Orologio (because of its unpleasant history). When you stay on the square for some ten minutes, you will see that it is sometimes completely empty and sometimes very crowded.

We visited the tower first, but on our way to the railway station passed this square. It is lovely. Nice buildings!

This is a beautiful square to take a break - just sit on one of the steps with some water and watch the tourists go by. I laughed at the statue of Cosimo with his foot on a really ugly dolphins head - which is a symbol of his domination over the seas (thank you, Google).

9.22.2014 -- walking tour. Lots going on in the square. Apparently school had just started. There were various booths promoting outdoor activities - rope climbing and obstacle course were two of them. Actually saw a toddler testing the ropes. A band was performing live West African music in front of the church. Watch my video clip.
