Not a very big church, but the inside will blow your mind out! Very unique, a bit "oriental/Byzantine" and glowing! A must see!
There's loads of history to this place, which seems super interesting to learn about- if you're into that. Even if you're not, it's so worth nipping your head in just to see how beautiful the glass is, it takes no time at all, but I think it's worth going in and breathing the air of a place with such an incredible structure. Give yourself the time to feel your presence there.
Not the largest Dom that I have visited but very impressive all the same. Entrance is free but if you wish to take pictures they ask for a small donation.Decided not to take a tour due to lack of time but will do a tour the next time around as you get to go where the rest don't. Will return
Stopped by for a quick view. Plenty of beauty in a relatively small church. Received a few foul looks from a priest giving a tour as I wandered and took pictures. Eventually was asked to stop as "service was starting in 20 minutes," they wouldn't explain why I had to stop *right now* though, just that I had to.
You can enter the dome for free, but the ask you 1 € when you want to take some pictures inside. It's not obligated, but it's to support the dome and the maintenance. It's very beautifull inside the dome, so I wouldn't miss that when you're visiting Aachen.
The Dome is impressive whether you see it from outside or inside. On the outside, it promises to be great when seen from inside, and it doesn't let you down. Looking up into the dome from inside the Cathedral you can admire the whole beauty of the building. Truly awe-inspiring.
A must visit place for anyone going to Aachen. It is steeped in history, the centre of power for Charlemagne. Architecturally it is wonderful and beautifully maintained. Along with the other historical buildings in Aachen it makes this city a wonderful place to visit.
THE Dome is An open museum, inside and outside. It's indeed th center of this historical city wher you still today , feeks THE great power of Charlemagne.
Each of the three times I have been to Aachen I always love to visit this amazing cathedral. Very beautiful internally and a variety of styles externally.
This is a wonder building; full of history and art. It's in the heart of the old town and an absolute must if you're in Aachen.
So much history, worth the visit (do a little research first to enhance your visit). Beautiful mosaics. Intriguing relics. I suggest you do the tour to access all areas; worth it.
The "Dome of Aachen" is a very historical place of the city. A short visit is a must while in town. If you like historical places, you will not be disappointed by the visit!
Walking around and into this awful cathedral, you sense the history of more than 1000 years. There is nothing like this around except the well known dome of Cologne.
