Despite the cold it was great to see!The countdown between blasts helped to ignore the cold.... & when it went off it was spectacular!

A breath taking view and recommended to be viewed in the winters. One must ensure that they have adequate warm clothing on as the wind chill can be really harsh.

This is so cool! The geyser explodes so high in the air every few minutes! I loved it- I think kids would enjoy it too, if they aren't too easily startled

Very interesting to see the power of nature at its rawest. I can imagine that the site gets very busy during the summer months but in March it was not too bad at all. We included it on our self drive tour on Southern Iceland but I believe it is included in many, if not all, day tours starting in Reykjavik. Worth a visit.

What an extraordinary place. This was part of an organised trip to the golden circle. The entire trip was absolutely fabulous would highly recommend.

Amazing place, a must see on the trip to Iceland. Although bitterly cold during our visit, we spend good hour exploring the site. Friendly restaurant serves very nice buffet lunch, good value for Iceland. Try local bread cooked in the hot springs.

What an amazing phenomenon! Follow the pathway past several steaming geysers to the main one which blows every 4 or 5 minutes! (Strokkur). It's fascinating to watch the pools of water bubbling, ebbing and flowing until the geyser blows. Keep to the pathways and watch for the direction of the wind in order not to have an unexpected hot shower!!! Great experience.

End of February, minus 5 degrees plus wind chill. Biting wind, clean air overcome with sulphur fumes. Erupts every 7 minutes, treacherous ice walk from the car park. Nature is brilliant, but harsh and demanding. A must see.

Fairly easy drive from Rekjavik. Good parking by the venue with a visitor shop. As with all Iceland's natural venues, viewing the geyser is free. Cross the road from the car park and then follow the paths to the various pools and little streams. The main geyser is spectacular when it blows and a great photo opportunity. It blows every 5-10 mins so you dont have to wait too long. The area is quite flat so walking is easy. All pools and streams are steaming and some quite hot.

Truely amazing well worth the visit. We visited in February when there was a blizzard, very strong winds that blew you all over the place and thick solid ice on the ground which made it like an ice skating rink. But that all added to the experience.

Plenty of photo opportunities if you have the patience to wait for an 'eruption'. This was a very different experience ad thoroughly enjoyable.

Another place on your list to visit when you come to Iceland, well worth the wait. The only problem we had it was freezing cold in blizzard conditions.

This was an amazing natural phenomenon. Breathtaking, and well worth the drive! The Geyser exploded every 2-3 minutes, and was a sight to be seen!

It was lovely to be able just to wander around especially as it was a fabulously sunny day which made the snow glisten like someone had sprinkled diamonds on it. The restaurant and shop was great as well.
