When you approach this waterfall, first you don't see much. Landscape looks rather flat. But then, you suddenly see the deep canyon it has eroded within many, many years.A beautiful Foss, not crowded, no facilities other than a simpe picknick area. We loved the place becaus of it's beauty and because we had more or less just to ourselves. Definitively worth the small detour.

Free from tourists, an untuched pearl in the middle of nowhere. We did the "valley" tour as suggested by the staff at Gauksmyri and saw the roundup.

Driving out into the country to see this waterfall lends spectacular views of the area. You cross this bridge right over the gorge, and park to walk out over the bridge. While the waterfall is interesting, there isn't really many options to walk around. I did feel that it was worth the drive, as it was secluded, beautiful, and set in a spectacular area. Take some time to enjoy the sound of the falls and the quiet of nature.

Not one of the bigger or better waterfalls in iceland. However, if you're on the ring road passing the area it's a good idea to take a detour and have a very short visit. It's on road#715 off the ring road. Takes ~10min driving per way on gravel road. There's nothing at the waterfall expect for a small parking area and probably 1-2 wooden benches. Extremely deserted. I guess it's not as famous/scenic to attract much visitors. You'll just need 10mins max to cover this site.

Not the largest but very beautiful falls in a nice wild environment. I was there completely alone (during the high season!) and that made it quite special. Just a 10 minutes drive from the ring road.

This waterfall isn't as famous or as large as the likes of Gullfoss or Dettifoss, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in beauty. It's also very easy to get to, just off Route 1. Definitely worth a visit.

This is certainly not the largest waterfall in Iceland, but if you're in the area it is certainly worth visiting. This is not a touristy area. There is a sign explaining the waterfall and a bridge where the road crosses the river, but otherwise it is unspoilt nature without fences, sidewalks, etc.

The scenery is really super. Wild untouched nature. I felt free and fabulous and we could make really good pictures for our family album. Looks like a scenery out of Lord of the rings!

Romantic place with a very nice view and possibilities to a nice walk along the ravin. Good information sign and parkinglot.

Beautiful waterfall a bit south from road 1, near Hvammstangi. Nice place to visit if you´re nearby - or driving around island. When we visited, we were the only people there. Easy to find with a map.

По меркам Исландии ничего особенного, но нам понравилось. К водопаду ведет довольно красивая дорога, да и сам водопад очень фотогеничен.

Небольшой водопад в каньоне. Если есть минут 30 времени, то можно сделать небольшой крюк от первой дороги и доехать сюда. По дороге тоже местами красивые виды. Нам понравилось.

еще один водопад, примечателен очень красивым каньоном. Специально сюда ехать не стоит, но если ваш маршрут проходит мимо, обязательно остановитесь и сделайте пару отличных кадров.

Если вы едете по кольцу,то между Акюрейри и Рейкявиком не так много интересных достопримечательностей. Водопад большой и красивый, но сильно уступает по размерам другим крупным водопадам Исландии. Так что специально на него ехать не стоит, а заехать по дороге от нечего делать - вполне.

...aber nicht wirklich spektakulär. Da hat Island besseres zu bieten. Aber wenn man eh in der Nähe ist lohnt sich ein Abstecher.
